Costruita praticamentesul nulla cinquant’anni fa, la sua struttura doveva ricordare leramificazioni delle corna di un cervo a partire dall’insenaturadel porto Vecchio (mentre oggi il porto turistico ospita oltre 700barche e lo storico Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, yccs.it). Se lachiesa di Stella Maris e la Piazzetta sono le cattedrali religiosae laica, è la Promenade du Port il punto di ritrovo e unicodistretto culturale della Costa Smeralda: una passeggiata di 350metri, su due livelli, tra gallerie d’arte e design (la londineseFumi Gallery, la parigina Louise Alexander e lo SpazioOrlandi), shopping, ristoranti (fra cui il Finger’s) e un piccolomuseo (che quest’estate ospita una mostra di street art). «Il 70%delle persone che transitano da qui sono stranieri, per questo è lapiù importante vetrina internazionale di Porto Cervo», raccontaAndrea Brugnoni, project manager della Promenade. Built practically from nothing50 years ago, it was designed to resemble the ramifications ofthe horns of a stag, following the lines of the inlet to the old port(whereas today the tourist port accommodates more than 700yachts and is home to the historic Yacht Club Costa Smeralda,yccs.it). And if the church of Stella Maris and the Piazzetta arethe cathedrals of religion and laicism, the Promenade du Portis the real, unique cultural focal point of the Costa Smeralda:a boardwalk 350 metres long on two levels between art anddesign galleries (the London-based Fumi, the Parisian LouiseAlexander and the Spazio Orlandi galleries), shopping, restaurants(amongst which Finger’s) and a little museum (thatthis summer is hosting an exhibition of street art). 70% of thepeople milling around here are foreigners, which makes it PortoCervo’s most significant international shop-window, says AndreaBrugnoni, the Promenade’s project manager.
