The ceiling is accuratelydecorated in shape of a roof with two or four slopes. The NWbay has a hemispheric dome. North of the church, there is awell preserved funerary parecclesion. The paintings on all of the walls are of good quality. From theright, the first niche contains: a painting of the Presentation ofJesus at the Temple, with the Virgin, the Child, the old Simeonand some exegetic Latin inscriptions; a very rare figureof the Virgin hol<strong>di</strong>ng hands of the Child. Counter clockwise,on the western wall, there are the paintings of Saint Stephenand Saint Nicholas of Trani, with late Latin inscriptions fromthe XIII century; Saint Nicholas; Virgin with the Child; SaintMatthew; another Saint Nicholas (late XIV century); SaintJoan the Baptist; Saint Peter; Saint Mark; Virgin and Child onthe Throne.
