5.6 Closed settingThe closed setting for the selector valve (fig. 12) is used to prevent water from circulating through the hoses and the filter.6 REPLACING THE CABLEIf the cable is damaged, proceed as follows:? Disconnect the unit from the power point.? Place the selector valve on the closed setting. Use the plug to close the skimmer, so that only the water in the hose isdrained.? Disconnect the hose which joins the pump and the filter. Loosen the clamp and remove the protective cover (Fig. 9).? Loosen the two screws which secure the filter housing and lift the housing (Fig. 10).? Loosen the two screws which secure the cable (Fig. 11).? Disconnect the three terminals in the pump connection box. Take note of their position.? Remove the cable so that it can be replaced. Then, perform the same steps in the opposite order from that describedabove.7 MAINTENANCEAfter the bathing season has ended, the filter should be kept in a dry place where it is protected from inclement weather.For this purpose, after performing a final backwash to clean the silica sand, dismount the hoses and drain the water in thefilter through the tank drain plug until it is completely empty.After removing all of the water from the filter, carefully clean the remains of silica sand from the thread beforereplacing the plug. Failure to do so could damage the thread.The filter tank drain plug should only be used in this operation.VERY IMPORTANT: Following an extended period of inactivity, before starting up the filter check that the driveshaft is not jammed. Remove the protective housing as shown in section 6. After winding the motor, use a flatscrewdriver to move it by the end which is visible through the metal ventilation cover, until it is released and theshaft turns to the right and the left. If it does not turn, clean the wheel of the turbine as shown in section 7.1.After stoppage for an extended period, it is also recommendable to make sure that the filter is primed beforestarting up.7.1 Care of the pumpThe filter pump is designed to operate without any specific maintenance. Nevertheless, if the unit is used in pools whichare extremely dirty, especially with leaves, this may cause the pump shaft to jam. In this case, proceed as follows:? Disconnect the unit from the power point.? Place the valve on the closed setting.? Insert the sealing plug on the skimmer.? Disconnect the pump suction hose located next to the white housing.? Release the pump-head connection sleeve, starting at the end which projects out beyond the housing.? Disassemble the filter housing, following the same procedure as in replacement of the cable.? Loosen the 9 (nine) screws which secure the cover of the pump body.? Clean the wheel. If you see that it is broken, ask the pool manufacturer about replacement.? Reinsert the pump cover. Ensure that the coupling is fully centred and firmly tightened.? Connect the sleeve to the pump cover.? Reassemble the housing, following the same steps as described for disassembly in the opposite order.? Reassemble the pump suction hose next to the white housing.? Remove the sealing plug from the skimmer.
7.2 Solving breakdowns and technical serviceThis filter includes instructions which are especially designed for family use. There is no need for professional assistance,except for in special cases. The following are some of the problems and causes which may arise over time after years ofservice by the filter. Normally you can solve these problems on your own. If not, contact the pool manufacturer at thetelephone and time indicated in the instructions.PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTIONThe filter leaks through the hose terminalsAfter the filter has started up, there is no flow inthe feedback nozzle.Intermittent operationThe flow rate of the filter is low.Water comes out through the filter opening.The filter valve leaks through the drain terminal.The motor will not start up.
