The program is aligned with the main security standards(ISO/IEC 17799:2005 Information Technology and ISO/IEC 15408), aswell as anticipating new legislation throughout Europe to protect electricpower <strong>generation</strong> plants, based on the trends and guidelines drawn up byEuropean and US bodies (ENISA, European Network and InformationSecurity Agency, and NERC, North American Electric Reliability Council).The cutting edge proposal involves the three macro areas in a system, ie. organisation,logical/IT and physical (internal and external) areas, all supportedby a modular, scalable system architecture for information collection,management and distribution, aided by decision making support systemsand a secure, reliable information network. The tools used are at the cuttingedge in their three respective areas, involving risk assessment and risk managementmethodologies and tools, biometric recognition access control technology,information systems integrated in secure communication systems,alarm systems based on behavioural analysis, plus electro-optical sensorsand highly sophisticated radar systems, including satellite technology.Training andresearchagreementsignedwith SalernoUniversityAnsaldo Energia has signed anagreement with Salerno Universityto implement commonresearch and training programs,as well as to activate synergyat technical and scientificlevel with a view to presentingprojects of mutual interest tothe appropriate national andEuropean institutions.Under the terms of the agreement,which was signed byAnsaldo Energia generalmanager Claudio Nucci andthe dean of Salerno UniversityRaimondo Pasquino, AENwill fund research grants, doctoratesand research posts, aswell as making its facilitiesavailable to three year degreecourse trainees and specialistdegree course internees.“This is an important initiative– stressed Giuseppe Zampini –addressed to the company's renewedpresence across Italyand in the region of Campaniain particular) to build new powerplants, demonstrating the attentionAnsaldo Energia has alwaysfocused on the issues oftraining and co-operation withtop Italian universities.
