E proporre dialoghi possibili trabambini, bambini e adulti, bambini e ambiente,bambini e soggetti di conoscenza.La documentazione pedagogica si offre come:• base interpretativa e culturale dell’adulto,strumento concettuale e operativo per la progettazionedidattica ed educativa dell’esperienza• strumento di valutazione e autovalutazionecapace di rigenerare le consapevolezze• visibilità del valore delle procedure didattiche edelle procedure come valore• possibilità di ricomposizioni reali tra i valori, gliaccrediti e i processi formativi dei bambini e degliadulti, dei loro saperi e delle loro culture.

A place for dialogue and to:• affirm the right to education and learning• highlight an idea of schools that choose an“ecological” approach; interdependency, coexistenceand co-participation in buildingculture• recognise the hundred languages as anextraordinary potential in children and humanbeings, which transforms and multiplies duringjourneys of knowledge and relations• declare an idea of participation in educationoriented in the direction of creating an interculturaldynamic and all these reach towards the constructionof a new idea and new experience of citizenship.Awareness of and responsibility towards the shareddestinies of the planet and humanity requireattitudes of “solidarity” and participation, thecapacity for putting oneself in the other’s viewpoint(other person or other thing) which has its rootsin emotion and the ability to mirror ourselves inothers.Dialogue of this nature needs to be capable ofaccepting provisional, and non-finished elements,of accepting transformation.This exhibition bears witness to the importance oflearning contexts, of feeding a desire for research,for viewing things with solidarity, for relating tothings with intensity and empathy and for aestheticexperience.In the same way, the value of learning in groups isof primary importance. In fact negotiating meaningis a constituent part of processes constructingknowledge.Learning in groups which provide space forargumentation, for sharing interpretations, emotionsand reflection, creates favourable conditionsfor subjective (person-specific) learning; acquisitionof content, awareness of ways of learning, thecapacity for understanding that “point of view” hasa pluralist nature.Learning in groups gives rise to social forms ofknowing and knowledge which are essential toan idea of citizenship for the world today and theworld tomorrow.Ways of learning, and the time it takes to learn,have their roots in biology and in culture.In this exhibition we wish to restitute and bearwitness to the respect and attention given toforms and times of learning in children andadults, individually and in groups. We would liketo propose possible dialogues between children,children and adults, children and environments,children and objects of their knowledge.Pedagogical documentation is a cultural andinterpretative base, a theoretical and practical toolfor projects in education and schooling.Pedagogical documentation makes it possibileto evaluate and self-assess quality of experienceand strategies by children and adults through thevisibility and value it gives to how both learningand teaching proceed.Through its complex narrative, documentationbrings together and re-composits values in educationand the culture, recognition of competencies,formative processes; woven together in the richfabric of knowledge and culture in children andadults.

Allo stesso tempo, la presenza della mostra inColorado ci riporta alla mente le immagini delle personeche accettavano l’invito della mostra a rileggere,riflettere e rispondere al suo potente messaggio.Durante i 6 mesi della mostra in Colorado, siamodiventati sempre più consapevoli che i visitatorila vedevano attraverso lenti individuali, ciascuno inbase alle proprie esperienze e alla propria educazione.Per alcuni la mostra era come un libro, da cui impararedi più sull’esperienza di Reggio Emilia. Altri siconcentravano sui significati e i valori che sottendevanoalle narrazioni, mentre per altri ancora la mostra era unforum per il dialogo. La mostra sollecitava sentimentied emozioni forti: soggezione e stupore, curiositàe meraviglia, disappunto e frustrazione per lo statoattuale dell’educazione, ma anche molta speranza eottimismo, perché a Reggio Emilia è ancora possibileuna visione del possibile.dal Report sull’esposizione della mostra,redatto dallo staff di Boulder Journey SchoolThe exhibit’s presence in Boulder and in Denver offeredvisitors many still and moving images of children andadults, living and working together in the schools andin the city of Reggio Emilia, as well as expressions andrepresentations of the children’s ideas. At the sametime, the exhibit’s presence in Colorado brings forthimages of people accepting the exhibit’s invitation toread, reflect and react to its powerful message. Duringthe exhibit’s six-month tenure in Colorado, we becameincreasingly cognizant that visitors viewed the exhibitthrough unique lenses, based on their experiences andeducation. For some the exhibit was like a book, fromwhich to learn more about the Reggio Emilia experience.Others focused on the meanings and values underlyingthe narrations, while for others still, the exhibit was aforum for dialogue. Il Comitato ha lavorato diligentemente suidiversi aspetti dell’organizzazione della mostra e dellaconferenza, tenendo sempre presente che volevamocatturare l’interesse di più insegnanti, bambini egenitori possibili. Molte visite di insegnanti e studenti,che sono venuti con i loro docenti universitari perpartecipare a questa formazione professionale unica,hanno dato visibilità all’interesse suscitato dalla mostra.È stato davvero gratificante vedere molto interesseanche da parte del pubblico in generale: le personeche sono passate anche solo per una visita hannotutte compreso maggiormente le aspirazioni del ReggioApproach. Certamente la mostra ha attratto un numeronotevole di insegnanti nel campo dell’educazione,provenienti sia dai kindergarten statali che dai centriper l’infanzia privati o dai centri di comunità legati allechiese, ma anche da scuole primarie private o statali.In totale, nel mese durante il quale abbiamo ospitato lamostra a Auckland abbiamo avuto circa 2.000 visitatori.Grazie per questa opportunità meravigliosa.After many years of studying, researching andnegotiating, RE Provocations then decided to organizethe hosting of one of the sections of the exhibition TheWonder of Learning – Dialogues with Materials.The committee worked diligently through the differentaspects of organizing the exhibition and conferencealways keeping in mind that we wished to capture theinterest and curiosity of as many teachers, children andparents as possible. Many visits from student teachersthat came along with their lecturers to partake inthis unique professional development gave visibilityto the interest that the exhibit provoked. It hasbeen extremely rewarding to see also a lot of interestfrom the general public and those who have comethrough in such a way have all gained an insight as towhat the Reggio Approach inspires to. Of course theexhibition attracted a huge amount of teachers alreadyin the field of education whether they be from staterun kindergartens, private Early Childhood Centres,Community basedCentres, Church affiliatedCentres or privateand state run primaryschools. Dieci anni più tardi a Denver,Colorado, all’inaugurazione della nuova mostraLo stupore del conoscere, ho sentito Carla Rinaldi chediceva: “La mostra è un invito aperto, da noi a voi, adincontrare le nostre scelte di responsabilità educative”.Per me questo era un messaggio sul significatodell’impegno per la qualità. Sapevo che portare la nuovamostra in Israele sarebbe stata un’occasione per noiper rivisitare e riflettere sul nostro percorso insiemeall’esperienza educativa di Reggio Emilia. La mostraapre le sue porte al pubblico israeliano e questo è il miomessaggio di benvenuto per essa: “Una porta riflette lerelazioni di me stesso con gli altri e me stesso verso glialtri. Ten years later in Denver, Colorado,at the launching of the new exhibit: The Wonder ofLearning, I heard Carla Rinaldi say: “ The exhibit is anopen invitation from us to you, to meet our choices ofeducational responsibility”.
