en6410. TroubleshootingShould the <strong>VDW</strong>.GOLD ® RECIPROC ® not function properly, it is not necessary indicative of a devicemalfunction. Use the information in the following table to check the device and rule out operating errorsor anatomical or other irregularities.Should the information in the following table not solve the problem, contact your service centre or<strong>VDW</strong> GmbH, Germany directly.Problem Possible Cause SolutionTHE DEVICE ISNOT FUNCTIONINGPROPERLYTHE DISPLAY SHOWSINCORRECT VALUESTHE MICROMOTORWILL NOT STARTTHE FOOT PEDALDOES NOT START THEMICROMOTOR• Battery empty.• The charger is not correctlyconnected to the power socket.• The mains voltage being usedto recharge the battery doesnot correspond to the voltageindicated on the adapter label.Unstable or fading display due toweak battery power.Either the micromotor is improperlyconnected to the housing,or the <strong>VDW</strong> 6:1 contra-angle isdefective.The foot pedal is either damagedor incorrectly connected.• Charge the battery.• Check whether the charger isplugged in correctly.• Check whether the original adapteris being used.• Reload factory default parameters(see details in Chapter 7.6 DefaultParameters).Charge the battery.• Check whether the micromotor cableis correctly connected to the micromotorhousing.• Check whether the contra angle isworking correctly.• Remove the contra-angle and setthe maximum rotational speed; thenrestart the micromotor.• Calibrate without the contra-angle;then put the contra-angle back on themicromotor and repeat the calibrationprocess.First check whether the foot pedalis correctly connected to the device.Press the foot pedal again. If the micromotordoes not start, then start themicromotor by pressing the ✓ Confirmkey for 1.5 seconds. If this starts themicromotor, the foot pedal is defective.Contact your service centre to have thefoot pedal replaced.
