62en8.2.5 SterilisationThe sterilisation procedure only applies to the lipclip and the file clip.WARNINGNever put the micromotor or other accessoryparts in an autoclave or an ultrasonic bath.Do not sterilise any <strong>VDW</strong>.GOLD ® RECIPROC ®<strong>com</strong>ponents (with the exception of the lipclip, the file clip (not including cables) andthe <strong>VDW</strong> 6:1 contra-angle. See also theseparate operating instructions on sterilisingthe <strong>VDW</strong> 6:1 contra-angle.Only use the sterilisation methods given below;other sterilisation procedures are not permissible.• Steam sterilisation• Fractional vacuum/pre-vacuum procedures (atleast three vacuum cycles) or gravity sterilisation(product must be sufficiently dry). Gravity proceduresare less effective and should only be used iffractional vacuum procedures are unavailable.• Steam sterilisers in <strong>com</strong>pliance with DIN EN13060 or DIN EN 285• Sterilisation validation must be done in accordancewith DIN EN ISO 17665 (valid installation andoperation qualifications (IQ and OQ) as well asproduct specific performance qualifications (PQ)).• Maximum sterilisation temperature 134 °C(273 °F); plus tolerance as specified in ISO DIN ENISO 17665.• Sterilisation time (application time at sterilisationtemperature) at least 18 min. at 134 °C (273 °F).8.2.6 StorageAfter sterilisation, the instruments must be storeddry and dust-free in the sterilisation packaging.8.2.7 Material DurabilityWhen selecting cleaning and disinfection products,make sure that you do not use phenol, strongacids, strong aldehyde disinfectants or anticorrosivesolutions.The material is temperature-resistant up to 137 °C /279 °F (maximum application temperature).WARNINGS• Rapid-sterilisation processes and sterilisationprocesses with unpackaged accessoryparts are not permitted.• Do not use hot-air sterilisation, radiationsterilisation or sterilisation involving formaldehyde,ethylene oxide or plasma.
