59ComponentsCableVDW 6:1 contra-angleCentral unitBatteryRoutine MaintenanceInspect the various cables of charger, micromotor,lip clip, file clip and foot pedal at least once everysix months.Contact your service centre if any of the cablecoatings show signs of wear and tear.The contra-angle needs to be lubricated aftercleaning and disinfection, but before sterilisation.Follow the instructions given in the separateoperating instructions of the VDW 6.1 contraangle,as well as the following notes:• When lubricating the contra-angle, make sureno lubricant penetrates the micromotor.• If the contra-angle is being lubricatedmanually, use pressurized air to remove excesslubricant (blow for about 5 sec.) before reapplyingthe contra-angle back onto themicromotor. Calibrate the contra-angle afterlubrication.• If the contra-angle is being lubricated automaticallyusing a maintenance or lubricationdevice, follow the device manufacturer‘sinstructions carefully, and make sure no excesslubricant remains in the contra-angle.• Do not lubricate the micromotor under anycircumstances. Lubricant can contaminate themicromotor and create a safety hazard. Doingthis invalidates the warranty.Check whether the central unit is leaking fluidsor emitting smoke. If so, unplug the deviceimmediately from the power source and contactyour service centre.For optimal performance, the battery shouldbe replaced at your service centre once every3 years.Never open the device yourself in order tochange the battery, as this can cause a shortcircuit.Opening the device voids the warranty.The battery should thus only be replaced bypersonnel at your service centre.enEndo Easy Efficient ®
