587.6 Default ParametersenEndometric Length Determination and X-RayTechnologyBecause X-ray measurement technology depictsthe 3-dimensional root canal system in only 2dimensions, the measurement results it providesmay differ from those obtained endometrically.This is not an indication that the VDW.GOLD ®RECIPROC ® is unreliable, nor does it mean thatthe X-rays are inaccurate.The differing lengths are caused by differencesamong canal anatomies. The actual apicalforamen can be localised elsewhere from theradiological apex of the root.To restore the original standard parameters:• Make sure the charger is not connected.• Turn the device off.• Press the ✓ Confirm and ON/OFF keys at thesame time. The device will power on and thedisplay will read:NOTES• Keep in mind that all individual settings,including those for the Dr‘s Choice Program,will be erased if you restore the factorydefault settings.• Settings regarding the audible signalsare set to “2” after loading the defaultsettings.If the canal is curved, the X-ray may show ashorter working length than the result determinedusing the VDW.GOLD ® RECIPROC ® .8.
