IL CINEMA ARGENTINO CONTEMPORANEO Il focus sul cinema argentino più i mondiali di calcio. Non poteva mancare Diego Armando Maradona. Presentiamo due documentari che raccontano le gesta dell’ultimo “eroe maledetto” del calcio. Per i nostalgici sarà meglio lasciar perdere la televisione (a pagamento) e le noiose partite gestite da qualche multinazionale americana, e correre in sala per vedere e ascoltare frasi come queste: “Nel calcio uno come Pelè merita rispetto, ma non dimentico che in occasione della finale dei Mondiali del ‘94, in Usa, tra Italia e Brasile, si è presentato allo stadio con una cravatta con i colori della bandiera degli Stati Uniti. IL CINEMA ARGENTINO CONTEMPORANEO Julian Bees, Fulvio Grubissich, Silvana Silvestri GOTAN CITY NUOVE MAPPE PER L’ARGENTINA / NEW MAPS FOR ARGENTINA Gotan Ciy è un programa in 10 puntate da 28’ realizzate per Cult Network Italia nel 2005, diretto da Julian Bees, Fulvio Grubissich, Silvana Silvestri, le musiche originali sono di Luis Agudo e Gustavo Delgado, la sigla di Marc van Put. Ognuna delle dieci puntate è costruita attorno a un momento chiave della cultura e della storia argentina, con l’idea di scoprirne i lati più nascosti: la storia dei desaparecidos non è stato il solo episodio di occultamento. C’è stato il massacro degli indios al momento della conquista, la quasi totale soppressione dei popoli indigeni negli anni ottanta dell’ottocento, mandati a combattere in prima linea, la cancellazione degli afro-argentini come parte della società. In occasione della retrospettiva sul cinema argentino, la Mostra Internazionale del Nuovo Cinema di Pesaro proietterà quattro puntate. TANGO (Un pensiero triste che balla) Il ritmo che del candombe africano è la traccia ancora vivente, un ideale percorso per alcuni studiosi che collegano il tango al tambor africano, una testimonianza della presenza della schiavitù sempre occultata dalla cultura argentina. Miguel Angel Zotto lo illustra danzandone la storia celebre e osteggiata. NUEVOS AIRES Il nuovo cinema argentino è esploso inaspettatamente, in un momento di grande crisi economica, vincendo numerosi premi internazionali e facendo conoscere una realtà del paese al di fuori dei cliché consueti. Parlano in questa puntata Lucrecia Martel, Pablo Trapero, Veronica Chèn, Daniel Burman, Martin Rejtman e alcuni giovani produttori. LADRONES DE GALLINAS In questo episodio si mostrano le immagini dell’unico regista desaparecido Raymundo Gleyzer, cineasta militante sequestrato nel 1978 dai militari. Il titolo della puntata prende spunto da un gruppo di cineasti di Cordoba che fa controinformazione. I Ladrones de gallinas si ispirano alle lotte sindacali del ’69 che per la prima volta misero in difficoltà la dittatura dell’epoca. Adrian Jaime autore del film Los Perros racconta la storia di un militante del Partito rivoluzionario dei lavoratori (erano chiamati spregiativamente “Perros”, cani, dagli oppositori politici. ECONOMIA Adolfo Perez Esquivel, premio Nobel per la pace, interviene sul concetto di sviluppo e di equilibrio. Uno dei paesi più ricchi al mondo ha avuto un crollo economico che in molti temevano, e che il governo ha fatto di tutto per provocare con una dissennata privatizzazione e con le illusioni del neoliberismo. Intervengono il regista Fernando Solanas, l’economista Abraham Gak, Hebe De Bonafini presidente delle Madri di Piazza di Maggio che ha lavorato perché non fosse pagato il debito, e ha dato il proprio sostegno alle fabbriche occupate. Gotan City is a program of ten 28-minute episodes made for Cult Network Italia in 2005, and directed by Julian Bees, Fulvio Grubissich and Silvana Silvestri, with original music by Luis Agudo and Gustavo Delgado, and the theme by Marc van Put. Each of the episodes centers on a key moment in Argentinean culture and history, in an attempt to uncover the country’s darker sides, the history of the desaparecidos not being the only event the government has tried to hide. There was the massacre of the native Indios during the Spanish conquest; the almost total extermination of the indigenous peoples in the 1880s, sent to fight at the front lines; and the elimination of the Afro-Argentineans as part of society. As part of its focus on Argentinean cinema, the Pesaro Film Festival will screen four episodes: TANGO (Un pensiero triste che balla) The rhythm of the Candombe is the still-living proof – and an ideal trace of the past for those scholars who link the tango to the African tambor drum – of slavery, which has always been hidden by Argentinean culture. Miguel Angel Zotto dances out its celebrated and obscured history. NUEVOS AIRES New Argentinean cinema exploded unexpectedly, in a moment of profound economic crisis, winning numerous international awards and giving audiences a less clichéd version of events in the country. Interviewees in this episode include Lucrecia Martel, Pablo Trapero, Veronica Chèn, Daniel Burman, Martin Rejtman and several young producers. LADRONES DE GALLINAS This episode features footage by the only desaparecido director, Raymundo Gleyzer, a militant filmmaker abducted by soldiers in 1978. The episode takes its title [literally, "Chicken Thieves"] from a group of filmmakers from Cordoba who produce counterinformation. The Ladrones de gallinas took their inspiration from the 1969 union battles that, for the first time, created problems for that era’s dictatorship. Adrian Jaime, director of the film Los Perros, tells the story of a militant from the Workers Revolutionary Party (the members of which were derogatorily called "Perros" – dogs – by the political opposition). ECONOMIA Nobel Peace Prize winner Adolfo Perez Esquivel speaks on the concepts of development and balance. One of the world’s richest countries had an economic collapse that many feared and that the government did everything to provoke with reckless privatization and illusions of neo-liberalism. Speakers in the film include: director Fernando Solanas; economist Abraham Gak; and Hebe De Bonafini, president of the Madres de la Plaza de Mayo, who worked so that the country’s debt did not have be repaid and supported the occupied factories. 42 a Mostra Internazionale del Nuovo Cinema 59
