Una piccola fabbrica come tante colpita dalla crisi economica,<br />
la volontà <strong>del</strong> proprietario di non cedere alle pressioni<br />
e ai ricatti <strong>del</strong>le banche, la tenacia di un figlio che<br />
vuole aiutare il padre e che sta anche dalla parte dei lavoratori,<br />
operai che reagiscono agli eventi opponendosi all’idea<br />
che loro siano l’ultima ruota <strong>del</strong> carro. Un film sui sentimenti<br />
di persone ferite da una storia che non hanno potuto<br />
governare. Una fiction dai toni documentari che segue i<br />
destini di donne e uomini in bilico, colti di sorpresa,<br />
costretti in taluni casi a vivere di espedienti umilianti, ma<br />
anche pronti a ricominciare da capo con l’orgoglio di chi sa<br />
che l’immoralità abita altrove.<br />
“Quello che mi interessa in questa storia sono gli esseri<br />
umani: il lavoratore che ha perso il suo posto, il lavoratore<br />
che dopo aver passato quaranta anni in fabbrica viene<br />
messo sulla strada senza neanche la sua pensione. Mi<br />
preoccupo <strong>del</strong> proprietario <strong>del</strong>la fabbrica che investe nella<br />
sua compagnia per lanciarsi nel libero mercato mentre il<br />
libero mercato si libera di lui mandandolo a gambe all’aria.<br />
Questo è un film sull’essere umano, e non sugli economisti<br />
o per gli economisti. Dopo tutto quello che è accaduto e<br />
continua a succedere nel mio paese, credo sia necessario<br />
fare un film che, oltre l’intrattenimento, scelga un compromesso<br />
tra il sociale e l’audience”.<br />

Biografia<br />
Con trentacinque anni di esperienza nel campo <strong>del</strong>l’audiovisivo,<br />
Alejandro Malowicki è uno dei più esperti registi<br />
<strong>cinema</strong>tografici e televisivi argentini. Ha diretto programmi<br />
televisivi per adulti e bambini, documentari sull’ecologia,<br />
ricerche sociali, ed è stato regista di un genere tanto<br />
insolito quanto accattivante come i documentari per bambini.<br />
Ha realizzato inoltre due film di finzione, spot pubblicitari,<br />
video e documentari istituzionali.<br />

A small factory, like many others hit by Argentina’s economic crisis,<br />
run by an owner who does not want to give into pressure and<br />
blackmail from the banks and a tenacious son who wants to help<br />
his father yet is also on the side of the workers, who in turn rebel<br />
against events and the idea of being the bottom rung on the ladder.<br />
A film on the emotions of people wounded by a history they<br />
were unable to govern. A fictional film with documentary overtones<br />
that follows the destinies of men and women hanging in the<br />
balance, caught by surprise, forced in some cases to live in humiliating<br />
circumstances, but who are also ready to begin again with<br />
the pride of those who know that immortality lies elsewhere.<br />
“What I care about in this story are the human beings: the worker<br />
who lost his job, the worker who after 40 years in a factory is<br />
left out on the street without even his pension.I care about the<br />
factory owner who invested in his company because he bought<br />
the hype about the free market and the free market left him flailing<br />
on his back. This is a film about human beings. It’s not a film<br />
about or for economists.After all that happened and is still happening<br />
in my country, I felt the need to make films that, besides<br />
being entertaining, adopt a social compromise with audiences.”<br />

Biography<br />
With 35 years of experience in the audiovisual field, Alejandro<br />
Malowicki is one of the most expert Argentinean film and television<br />
directors. He has directed television programs for children<br />
and adults, ecological documentaries, social investigations, and<br />
was the director of a genre as unusual as it is captivating – children’s<br />
documentaries. He has also made two feature films, commercials,<br />
videos and industrial documentaries.<br />
