In un tragico gioco di rimandi, coincidenze, destini incrociati
e azioni caparbie, questo film documentario testimonia
la volontà delle vittime della dittatura argentina cominciata
il 26 marzo 1976, di non dimenticare il passato e di far
sì che il presente sia portatore di verità e giustizia. Sottratti
ai loro genitori desaparecidos, i neonati cresciuti in ambienti
complici e compiacenti con la dittatura, oggi sono diventati
adulti e in alcuni casi scoprono di essere cresciuti in una
famiglia che non era la loro. Le nonne di Plaza de Mayo
non si arrendono e fanno di tutto per cercare i nipoti e
mostrare loro la pur dolorosa realtà. Nell’orrore, questo
documentario scopre la forza irriducibile di donne che non
rinunceranno mai alla libertà di vivere nella verità.

Benjamin Ávila
Biografia
Benjamin Ávila è nato nella provincia di Buenos Aires nel
1972. Ha iniziato la sua formazione come fotografo e attore.
Ha esordito nel cinema realizzando vari lavori come
direttore della fotografia e sei cortometraggi in qualità di
regista e sceneggiatore. Lavora come montatore e regista
per la produzione indipendente Triada. Dal 1999 al 2001 è
coordinatore della cattedra di regia alla Scuola internazionale
di Cinema e Televisione di San Antonio de Los Baños
a Cuba. Nel 2001 ha fondato la società di produzione Habitacion
1520.

In a tragic game of cross-references, coincidences, interwoven
destinies and persistence, this documentary is testimony of the
desire of the victims of the Argentinean dictatorship (that began
on March 26, 1976) to not forget the past and to ensure that the
present brings truth and justice. Taken away from their desaparecido
parents, the newborn babies that grew up in environments
complicit with and obliging to the dictatorship are today
adults and, in some cases, know that they have grown up in a
family not their own. The grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo have
never given up and do all they can to look for their grandchildren
and reveal to them the painful reality of their situations. In the
horror, this documentary shows the indomitable strength of
women who have never given up the freedom to live the truth.

Benjamin Ávila
Biography
Benjamin Ávila was born in the province of Buenos Aires in
1972. He first worked as a photographer and actor before starting
to work in film, doing various jobs, such as DoP and the
director/screenwriter of six short films. He works as an editor
and director for the independent production company Triada.
From 1999-2001, he coordinated the Directing Department at
the International School of Cinema and Television at San Antonio
de Los Baños in Cuba. In 2001, he founded the Habitacion
1520 production company.
