In questo cortometraggio Jay Rosenblatt documenta con
umorismo come una bambina sviluppi dentro di sé un forte
desiderio. La piccola Ella si sta vestendo con sua madre
per la festa di Halloween. Baffetti, un cappello e un bastone
da passeggio la trasformano nel suo idolo Charlie Chaplin.
Comincia a imitare la sua camminata caratteristica. La
vediamo uscire per andare a chiedere i dolcetti. Tornata a
casa entusiasta mette al sicuro il bottino della giornata. Vorrebbe
rimanere vestita come il suo idolo per altri dieci anni.
Ma solo un anno dopo, eccola che si veste da fantasma.
Charlie Chaplin non è più il suo idolo, punto e basta. Terzo
di una serie di film di Rosenblatt con protagonista sua figlia.

In this short film, Jay Rosenblatt documents with humor how a
small girl develops a strong desire within her. Little Ella’s mother
is helping her get dressed for a Halloween party. A mustache,
a hat and a cane transform her into her idol, Charlie Chaplin.
She even begins imitating his characteristic walk. We see her
leave the house to go trick-or-treating then come home, happy,
and put away her bag of goodies. She wants to remain dressed
like her idol for ten more years. However, for the following Halloween,
there she is, dressed up like a ghost. Charlie Chaplin is
no longer her idol, period. I’m Charlie Chaplin is the third in a
series of Rosenblatt’s films featuring his daughter.
