Despite a big and interesting historicalheritage, Georgian Theatre had to overcome many difficulties.90s of XX century was generally very hard for the countryand especially for the theatre. Transformation and waking uptime has started from the end of 90s. Georgian Theatre is in theprocess of searching nowadays, as well as Georgian drama. Thegoal of the topic is to show the problems of modern GeorgianTheatre. Strong competition that is created by the television andcinematography requires a certain compromise from the theatredirectors. For attracting the spectators one has to foresee theirinterests to satisfy them. One of the most important problemsof the modern Georgian Theatre is a bounty of “box office”performances.
