In the last decades certain steps havebeen made in Georgia in regard to composing new textbooks the worldand Georgian history which are devoid of the Soviet ideological dogmata.In the new textbooks the accent is transferred to the importance of acquiringthe values common to all-mankind. The world and the Georgianhistory should be the means of setting up close links between the past,the present and the future for the youth of the independent Georgia. As itis indicated in the present article no teaching guides or methods can beuniversal. The aim of diversity is to direct the teaching process towardsthe utmost acquisition of knowledge. The choice of guides and methodsentirely depends on the teacher’s qualification, skills, knowledge and personaltraits of character, as well as on the pupils’ activeness, eruditionand interests.760
