Itis a manifestation of an eternal struggle between the good and the evil. The appearance of the novel found a warm response among the scientificcircles. Undoubtedly, the main structural element of the novel is the mythused in the work to achieve parabolicity (parabolism). It is the mythwhich enables us to find the archetype in the novel: Data Tutashkhia – St.George, Jesus Christ; Mushni – the Dragon, the Snake, Satan – Judas. The evangelistic quotations given in the novel signify the importance ofethic norms, of the spiritual fundamentals. The time and the characters ofthe novel are not presented in one concrete frame. They are problemscommon to all humanity, formed in an individual, filling up the nationand eventually enveloping the mankind. Though the events described inthe novel rake place in a concrete time and epoch, i.e. at the close of XIXcentury, the ideological world outlook of “Data Tutashkhia” contains thegreatest dimensions of generalization and the correctly selected symbolsand myths signify the everlasting battle between the good and the evil.1 k. imedaSvili. mijna.
