I N S T A L L A T I O N3.5.2 Electrical installationInstalling the UPS systemNOTEDo not perform any unauthorised modifications to the UPSsystem as doing otherwise will damage the system and voidthe warrantyDo not connect the connection cable of the UPS system withthe mains power supply before the installation is completelyfinished1. If you are installing the DataWatch software, connect yourcomputer to one of the interfaces. Use a suitable cable for theinterfaces (an RS-232 cable is included in the scope of supply).2. If your rack has a ground conductor or conductor for the potentialequalisation between metal parts, connect the groundcable (not supplied) with the screw used for the ground connection.You will find information for the respective locationof the ground screw for each model in the Technical Datasection.3. If an emergency-off switch is required, you can find installationinformation in the Remote switch for emergencies (RemoteEmergency Power-Off, REPO) section.4. Proceed with section Commissioning information.Connecting the battery modules1. Remove the front cover of the UPS system (see Figure 5).To remove the cover, unscrew and remove the two screws onthe right side of the cover. Grasp the cover on two sides, slideit to the left and remove it from the housing.NOTEA ribbon cable connects the LCD display and the controlpanel with the UPS.
