M A I N T E N A N C E7.4.2 Replacing the battery module of the tower modelNOTEThe battery module does not have any hot-swap batteries.Please replace the entire battery module. Please contactyour dealer if you want to replace the individual batteries.CAUTIONThe battery module is very heavy. At least two persons arerequired for lifting the housing.1. Pull off the cable of the battery module from the UPS system.If additional battery modules are installed, pull off the cablesfrom the battery connections of all battery modules.2. Replace the battery modules. Please read the Disposing of oldbatteries or the UPS system section for information on properdisposal.3. Release and remove the cable holder which covers the batteryconnections on each battery module (see Figure 3). Keep theclamps and screws.CAUTIONA small spark can occur when the battery module is connectedto the UPS system. This is normal and does not posea hazard to people. Quickly and firmly insert the cable of thebattery module into the battery plug connection of the UPSsystem.4. Connect all plug connections between the battery modulesand the UPS system (see Figure 3). Up to four batteries canbe connected to the UPS system.5. Mount all previously removed cable clamps rotated by 90° belowthe connector (see Figure 3).6. M A I N T E N A N C E7.4.3 Replacing the internal batteries of the rack modelCAUTIONThe internal batteries of the UPS system are heavy. Usecaution when handling the heavy batteries.The internal batteries are located behind the front cover of the UPSsystem. For better handling, the internal batteries are packaged together.1. Remove the front cover from the UPS system (see Figure 16).To remove the cover, unscrew and remove the two screws onthe right side of the cover. Grasp the cover on two sides, slideit to the left and remove it from the housing.NOTEA ribbon cable connects the LCD display and the controlpanel with the UPS. Do not pull on the cable and do not separatethe connection.Figure 16: Removing the front cover from the UPS system2. Disconnect the internal battery plug connection (see Figure 17).3.
