M A I N T E N A N C E7. Maintenance7.1 Care and maintenance of UPS systems/batteriesTo ensure a long service life of the system, the area around the UPSsystem should be kept clean and free of dust. If the area around thesystem is very dusty, cleaning the outer surfaces of the system usinga vacuum cleaner.To ensure a long service life of the batteries, the ambient temperatureshould lie below 25°C.NOTEMake sure that the UPS system is switched off and disconnectedfrom the mains power supply before transporting theUPS systemThe batteries of the UPS system are designed for a servicelife of 3 to 5 years. However, the service life of a battery variesdepending on the frequency of use and ambient temperature.After expiration of the expected service life, batterieswhich continue to be used frequently have reduced runningtimes. Replace the batteries every five years at the latest sothat the system can provide optimal power at any time7.2 Storing UPS systems/batteriesIf you store the UPS system over a longer period of time, chargethe batteries every six months by connecting the UPS system to themains power supply. The internal batteries will charge up to 90% oftheir capacity in less than three hours. ONLINE recommends chargingthe batteries for 48 hours after longer periods of storage(>3 months).
