O P E R A T I O N4.2.4 Standby modeIf the UPS system is shut down, however, the plug remains in theoutlet, the UPS system will continue to run in standby mode. Thedisplay is switched off, which indicates that no current is available forthe connected load. The batteries are charged, if necessary and thecommunication slot is supplied with power.If the mains power fails and the output power is switched off due toflat batteries or an internal fault of the UPS system, the UPS systemswitches with a warning signal to standby mode. It continues tosupply the communication slot for up to 1.5 hours (depending onsettings) or until the battery voltage sinks below 1.75V per cell.The condition which occurs first applies in each case.If the mains power fails while the UPS system is in standby mode,the power supply of the controller switches off after approximately10 seconds.If the UPS system is waiting for commands and the power fails,the device and the power supply of the controller switch off afterapproximately 30 seconds.4.3 Starting and shutting down the UPS system4.3.1 Starting the UPS system1. Check whether the power cable of the UPS system is pluggedin.2. If you haven't done so already, switch on the mains powersupply for the circuit that the UPS system is connected to.The display on the front side of the UPS system lights up andshows the status "UPS initialising …".3.
