488 REVIEWS / RECENSIONESThe historical conditioning of the human person, and the preciseimplications of the Church being in the world, are also of importancein the interpretation of Gaudium et spes. Attention to these pointscould have helped Niemira understand better the tradition whichshaped the thought of Capone and Häring. The issue is not whetherthese two theologians are sufficiently christological in their moralformulations: Niemira does justice to both of them on this point. How they formulate their christology is the issue.
