It reads well in this literary format. Thereis a clear exposition of the question to be researched; the religiousnature of morality in a christological mode, and the author uses twosubstantial sources to explore the question. The presentation of theresults of the research is logical. In the first part, containing fivechapters, the focus is on the general relation between religion andmorality. A second part, this time of four chapters, moves throughthe thought of Häring and Capone on how their exposition of beingand existing in Christ can be evaluated as a contribution to contemporarymoral theology. The sure guidance of Professor SergioBastianel can be detected in the precision and accuracy of the developedexposition of the research.Niemira is concerned throughout the work to demonstrate howthe surest foundation of Christian morality is an exposition of its religiouscharacter. Behind this pre-comprehension is the presuppositionthat the religious character is best expressed in terms of a christologicalformation of the human person. There may seem littleexcitement in dedicating a thesis to an exploration of this pre-comprehensionand presupposition, but there is an element of novelty inthis work that justifies its publication.
