Year after year, collectors from allover the world descend on Lake Como toput on show their prized autos or simply toview others’ masterpieces. As is tradition,at 2.30 pm on Saturday 24th April, 20<strong>10</strong>,the parade took place in the enchantinggardens of Villa d’Este in front of an eminentjury and of public spectators. The topprize, the “Coppa d’Oro Villa d’Este ” wasawarded to the American John BookoutJr., owner of the Maserati A6GCS (1955).On Sunday 25th April, the event moved toVilla Erba, where all of the entrants are onview for the general public. Another Americantook home a prize, the “BMW TrophyItalia”, which was given to American OscarDavis for his Talbot- Lago T150 C SS (1938),a Teardrop Coupé. The event closed witha gala dinner at the Villa d’Este, <strong>com</strong>pletewith a lovely fireworks display. Despitesome new features added to this year’sedition, such as a “Workshop on Design”hosted by Mrs. Verena Kloos, Head of BMWGroup Design's Context - Design Studio forAdvanced Development and an exhibitionof amphibian cars, the Concorso maintainedthe same spirit and guidelines that inspiredits debut in 1929, that is to bring togetherthe beauty, elegance and technicalperfection that the automobile industry iscapable of achieving. This year’s Concorsoalso saw a ‘wel<strong>com</strong>e home’ of sorts.
