La Chiesa non è un museo e tanto meno un mausoleo.È la gente viva dei nostri territori che si tramanda di padre in figlio lafede nel Dio di Gesù Cristo; non ha un fondatore defunto, ma vivo erisorto. Chiaramente è una comunità che, passando attraverso i tempi,deve ogni giorno affrontare sfide inedite, nuove domande, superareegoismi e contraddizioni, ma ha una forza che non le viene dastrategie organizzative, ma da una fede profonda che mette in contoanche persecuzioni. È una comunità che spesso, purtroppo, è abitataanche da tradimenti, ma che è amata smisuratamente dal suo sposoGesù, che non la abbandona anche quando lo mettiamo in croce. Nonè lasciata a se stessa, è sempre illuminata dallo Spirito e risorge dalleceneri ogni giorno nuovo che si apre».Nell’era multimediale l’offerta spirituale è varia: come guidare igiovani ad una ricerca autentica?«La varietà delle offerte di vita spirituale è una risorsa perché permetteai giovani soprattutto di rispondere alle domande di ulteriorità cheli abitano, alla ricerca non mai sopita negli uomini di risposte a quesitidecisivi per la felicità delle persone: da dove vengo? dove vado? chisono? c'è una vita piena, senza fine? siamo in questo mondo per caso?La molteplicità di proposte può portare confusione, ma almeno togliedall'appiattimento nel materialismo, nel consumo, nella superficialità.Occorre poi offrire proposte vere, motivate. La fede è un atto intellettualmenteonesto e umanamente sensato, l'esperienza cristiana nonè un’invenzione di quattro transfughi fatta a tavolino per fare soldi.Ha alle spalle una storia verificabile, un cammino secolare, e soprattuttoè abitata dalla vita. I giovani nelle pagine web hanno già saputoscrivere non solo la loro sete, ma anche la bellezza delle sorgenti acui attingere e sono vivacissimi nel trovare sempre strade nuove diapproccio, di ricerca e di proposta».La parrocchia come paradigma della famiglia umana è un modelloancora attuale?«Certo ha subito grandi trasformazioni, ma è sempre una casa cheaccoglie, una presenza capillare che dissemina ovunque gesti, riti,parole, speranze, esperienze di fede nel Dio di Gesù Cristo. La suaattualità è data anche dal fatto che, proprio come l'esperienza di famigliasta alla base della convivenza umana, stabilisce un tessuto direlazioni primario per il mondo della fede, a partire dalla domandareligiosa che c'è in ognuno. È aperta sul territorio, senza ferie estive,si costruisce immediatamente attorno ad un gruppo di personededicate, sa parlare a ragazzi, giovani e adulti. Siccome però cambiamolto l'ambiente in cui vive, anche la parrocchia deve aggiornarsi,tenere conto delle nuove domande, della nuova autocomprensioneteologica. Deve purificarsi, saper cogliere le istanze vere dell'uomo.Ha una sua presenza capillare che non è mai monitorata dalla grandestampa. Si pensi per esempio, in alcune stagioni come quellapasquale: quante persone sono interessate a una sua esperienza dibase: la prima comunione dei bambini. Oggi le parrocchie nel loroinsieme mobilitano milioni di persone, ma non è fatto di cronaca,proprio perché è il tessuto quotidiano che la parrocchia segue, dovesta la vita vera, personale, profonda, comunitaria, semplice, tantoda essere anche dal punto di vista civile una risorsa assolutamentedecisiva, anche solo per le relazioni che cementano il popolo cristiano».Quali indicazioni vuole dare ai nostri lettori, se qualcuno desiderasseapprofondire questi temi e mettersi in gioco?«Intanto un invito a partecipare ai lavori della settimana, almenoin parte. La cosa più importante è di rifarsi un modo innocente diguardare ai fenomeni della religiosità e alla vita della fede. Smetterequell'aria di aver già risolto tutto e porsi in sincero ascolto della propriacoscienza. Per sbriciolare le nostre certezze bastano due gradidi calore in più nell'aria o anche solo le polveri di un vulcano. C'è unmondo affascinante che è il mondo di Dio, c'è una dimensione essenzialeche è quella religiosa. Non saremo mai felici se non daremorisposta a tutte le domande di religiosità. Non saremo mai felici senon daremo risposte ai nostri innumerevoli perché. Diventa necessarioallora continuare a farsi domande e trovare linee di risposta,generose e profonde. La comunità cristiana è su questa lunghezzad’onda. La misericordia di Dio in Gesù è ancora più grande di ogniespressione di Chiesa, ma passa da lì».Magic Lake confirms its attention to the most important events that takeplace in the territory, it chose to be the media partner of the 60° week of thepastoral updating. Sigalini, bishop of Palestrina andpresident of the center for Pastoral Orientation, tells us about this appointmentin Como.60th National week of pastoral update: what is it? and to whom is itaddressed?«It is a convention of priests and laymen to go into details about main themesof everyday life of a Christian community, parish or diocese, believeraggregations or associations. The people who are taking part are comingfrom all over Italy, they enrich each other with their point of views andways to solve problems, they are helped by experts in Christian life andthey can also give their contribution and offer their personal competence».The theme of the 60th week is “New forms of Christian community:the pastoral relations among priests, believers, laymen and territory”.What are the motivations at the basis of the selection of thetheme?«The starting point is the classical form of a community, that is the parish.In Italy it is very popular because it is part of our national territory and itcan make people part of the church and as a consequence, of the faithexperiences in a precise territory. Today the territory undergoes manychanges and people are facing the theme of faith in very new ways, thisparish is sensitive by nature to any change and it is also ready to face them.Do we suffer or rule these changes? So do we adapt or do we answer withloyalty to the Gospel and to the religious life by creating new communityforms and new parish organizations? It’s some years that people try andanswer to this question with brilliance and effort. During our week of studyin Como we would photograph the changes, the new community formsand we would also study the new type of relations among different persons.As in many other fields in the modern social life, it is very importantto solve problems and to find new relation orders. It works in the same wayin the family, at work, in the public administration, in the market rules. It isalso true in the church life, where the relation between God and people hasto be promoted. All the people who have roles in it, they also interact andtalk, collaborate, have responsibilities, where no one is just passive or justactive, where people can experience a great gift of God: the communion,which is not the agreement on a plan in front of a table, but a Holy Ghostoffered by God and for which Jesus Christ gave his life, by imploring it toGod. In the church without communion you cannot do much; it is the necessarycondition for any act of faith. In our work of the week we try anddecline communion in the wide world of relations among people who arepart of the church, laymen and priests, believers and catechists, associationsand organizations, as well as of the territory…».What is the Center of Pastoral Orientation you preside over andwhat are the goals you have?«The Center of Pastoral Orientation (COP) is an association of friends,made by laymen, believers, bishops who are interested in the Christianlife and in the Christian communities with a simple organization to easilyinteract, its goals are to work on remark, comparison, study, project. Sometimeswe are too involved in the activities we do, even though they arenecessary, we risk and loose the Christian vocation, the enthusiasm in thefaith, the joy to follow Jesus Christ. The COP organizes researches, studies,discussions and comparisons. The remark work which is called “pastoral”is published in a magazine which is called “Pastoral Orientations” andfinds its best expression in the Forum of pastoralists, that is the aggregationof those who transform this passion on an academic science, which isthought at university and in institutes of religious research. The COP livesthe experience of a passionate charity work, the magazine is supported bythe organization of a small editorial office and the contribution of manytheologians, priests and laymen. In the week of update the COP finds themain cooperation among those who share the ideals and collaborate toreach the same goals».Can the experience at the origins of the Christian communities beapplied at the present world?«Yes, absolutely; it is a lively community, it is made of people who havepassion. The church is not a museum and least of all a mausoleum. It ismade of the people of our territories, they transmit their faith in God andJesus Christ from father to son; it hasn’t a dead founder, but a live and resurrectedfounder. Nowadays it is a community that has to face new challenges,recent questions, it has to overcome egoism and contradictions;anyway it has a strength that doesn’t come from organization strategies,but from a strong faith that can be even persecuted.
