Among theinitiatives, already activated in 2008 and 2009,also this year a protocol of agreement has beenundersigned among Province of Como, BCC diAlzate Brianza, BCC di Lezzeno, Banca di Legnano,Cassa Rurale ed Artigiana di Cantù, CreditoValtellinese, Camera di Commercio, ConfartigianoImprese, Confindustria, Confcooperative,CNA, API, CISL, CGIL and UIL, to anticipateto the workers involved in the business crisis thecheques of extraordinary redundancy fundsand in derogate. Actually, due to the very difficulteconomic situation, enterprises involvedin intervention of redundancy funds in somecases, they cannot anticipate the treatment totheir employees and often the money allocatedby the INPS (National Social SecurityInstitute)take a while to be given to the families and thisimplies financial difficulties for the workers andtheir families. Now, with the agreement on thisprotocol, which was undersigned also by all thesocial parts, five Institutes of Credit were availableto economically anticipate to the peoplewho are not working the money which shouldbe given by the INPS avoiding therefore to waitfor a long time. The people who get redundancyfunds, continues the Councillor Fermi, can goto the bank offices which take part in this initiativeand ask for the money which should begiven by the INPS. In this way the worker can receivesome money in advance coming from thefunds of the social damper thanks to a financinggranted by the banks up to a maximumof 6.300 Euro in nine months, in installmentsof 700,00 Euro a month, without expenses, noteven the money to open a bank account. FromMarch 2009 up to now, 1079 workers of Comowent to credit institutes to get some money inadvance, of those which should be given bythe INPS. The 5 banks involved, which I wouldpersonally thank for the availability in this importantproject to support the workers and theenterprises in difficulty, they already agreed atotal of 5.455.492,36 of which over 2.814.447,61have been already distributed. The initiative,says the Councillor Fermi, brought about animportant social step, avoiding that workersand families who are still in difficulties, alsohave to face the problem of living a few monthswithout money.
