Kilen is one of Europe’s leading suppliers of springs, offering one of
the widest ranges of replacements springs for passenger cars, on the
market today.
Kilen springs are manufactured in Sweden by the cold coiling of
prehardened, oil tempered wire. This method, the most modern
available today, was first developed in the production of engine
valve springs. The major advantage of cold coiling is that the
material consistently maintains maximum precision.
Kilen springs are subject to shotpeening after the coiling. This
process builds in stresses in the surface, thus maximising product
life by preventing early fatigue and breakage.
All Kilen springs are inspected and tested to ensure the highest
quality standards.
Kilen springs are protected from corrosion by an advanced zinc
phosphate and epoxy powder resin paint system.
Kilen springs are prior to dispatch packed in strong, attractively
designed boxes, complete with application data and part number, to
ensure that the customer receives the correct spring for the desired
application.
Kilen also offers a wide range of sport springs, gas springs and leaf
springs.
Important information
1. Always replace springs in pairs. Different types of spring on the
same axle may cause the car body to lean and consequently
cause poor roadhandling.
No guarantees are applicable when only one spring is replaced.
2. When replacing the front springs, it is advisable to have the
wheels re-aligned.
3. Kilen springs are designed to match specific OEM-specifications.
There are however, some occasions, when we produce slightly
modified versions of the OEM springs to accommodate our
production methods. The ride characteristics and performance
remain the same.
4. Saloon and Estate models normally have the same front springs.
5. Petrol and Diesel models normally have the same rear springs.
6. An ideal opportunity to fit new springs is when the shock
absorbers are being replaced, since the spring mostly has to
be removed anyway.
7. Always check that the spring’s diameter and end shapes are
correct before attempting to fit it into the spring pan.
8. Generally the models stated in this catalogue are 2WD hatchback
or saloon cars with petrol engines and without sport chassis or
a self levelling device. All other models are specifically listed on
separate lines.
