E adesso, come contribuisce? Trussardi Collezione P/E 15 Trussardi Collezione P/E 15 combine tradition and pioneering spirit. An antique market was held every third Sunday of the month in Bergamo. My father and I were doing the rounds among the stalls and I remember that when he looked at objects he already saw possible developments. A bracelet with a special clasp became a handle for a new bag. I was only a child, and his ability to see beyond the obvious appearance of objects fascinated me incredibly. Trussardi and Italy: how has the brand contributed to our country’s prestige? T. Trussardi has marketed fashion, making it everyone’s heritage, with fashion shows open to the public, events, traveling shows and crossovers with other products. We were among the first to achieve co-branding, with Alitalia for example, to bind very strongly the national carrier to a fashion brand that would represent Italian-ness worldwide. Today our goal is to continue to bring Trussardi’s identity and Made in Italy to the world, with a focus on emerging markets. Seeing my sister Gaia on forbes. com’s list of 12 women who are changing Italian fashion makes me very proud, as a brother and as CEO of the group in which she is the creative director. G. Trussardi has always encouraged Italian workers and talents in all fields. We’ve acted as talent scouts for many great Italian artists, like Giovanni Gastel, who is now a master of Italian photography. And now, as a contribution? T. “One brand three labels”: this is our definition today. Besides Trussardi main line, which embodies the effortless elegance of the Group, increasingly important are Tru Trussardi and Trussardi Jeans, lines that mirror the brand’s “contemporary” and casual soul. The idea of the Tru Trussardi label has paved the way for a stronger and better-defined identity for the line. We have based our work on its potential on the international market, opening many outlets and stores in the world’s top shopping cities. Even our historic Trussardi Jeans label was recently re-launched following new criteria of distribution but also of content: within two years, we expect to open new stores in Russia and in the East, but also to land in the United States. 42 ULISSE MARZO 2015
