on the last day, when most journalists and international buyers
have already left for Paris, but spreading their shows throughout
the calendar, along with the biggest names, and giving
them proper visibility. Setting up fashion calendars is not the
easiest thing imaginable. Balance is really delicate, and making
everyone happy isn’t really possible. I support the French
system, which provides that changing a fixed slot on an established
calendar can be done on two conditions: that the other
company, or brand, with which you want to exchange positions
on the program agrees, and approval is given by the Fédération
et des Créateurs de Mode (the equivalent of the CNMI). In the
last menswear calendar I managed to get the best, but I had to
say a lot of nos. Even more so with the women’s wear calendar
in February, my refusals were always with good reasons, with
respect. Good administration is done by many nos and few yesses,
but the important thing is that refusals are always for good
reasons.
What’s the relationship between the National Chamber of Italian
Fashion and institutions?
Today we are lucky to have Cristina Taiani as Councillor for
Fashion and Trade Events, and things are going very well. She
is a person of great intelligence, a serious, well-prepared woman,
a partner who listens and does what she can.
How difficult is the relationship between the CNMI and other
international bodies that represent their Fashion Weeks?
The institutions are run by men. When I was elected president of
the CNMI to the Fédération Française de la Couture, du Prêt-à-
in termini d’estensione.
Come vi state muovendo?
L’Expo (World Exposition Milano 2015) è una grande opportunità,
“Enjoy Milano 1” e “Enjoy Milano 2”.
a presenze internazionali.
