EXPLORE SPECIALE LONDRA
in quartiere.
com). Pub d’autore anche il The Coach and Horses, a Soho,
Foto ©VisitBritain / Britain on View
location in città (carluccios.com).
Discover a world of flavour, simply by moving from one neighbourhood
to another. The Coach Makers, in a hundred-year-old building
in Marylebone, is a stylish gastropub with the finest oysters in London
(thecoachmakers.com). Another designer pub is The Coach and
Horses, in Soho, which offers traditional “Sunday roast” with potatoes,
vegetables and gravy, also in vegetarian and vegan versions
(thecoachandhorses.com). The best meat, especially 100% Angus
hamburger, can be had at the Owl & Pussy Cats in Shoreditch,
with exposed-brick walls and wooden furniture (owlandpussycatshoreditch.com).
Taylor Walker Audley, in the heart of Mayfair, is
proud of its genuine British menu, featuring fish & chips as well as
meat pie with mashed potatoes (taylor-walker.co.uk). For a panoramic
dinner, book a table at XO, on the eighth floor of the OXO
Tower, where weekend dining is accompanied by the sound of jazz
(oxotower.co.uk). Equally scenic is Sauterelle, an elegant restaurant
on the mezzanine of the Royal Exchange (royalexchange-grandcafe.co.uk).
For ethnic cuisine, try Amaya in Belgravia, which serves
some of the most reliable and faithful Indian cuisine in the city, and
Baiwei, in Chinatown, a landmark of traditional Sichuan cooking.
And for those who yearn for the taste of home, there’s always Carluccio’s,
with several locations in the city (carluccios.com).
