LA MICROMETEOROLOGIA E LA CAPACITA’ DISPERDENTE DELL’ATMOSFERA la Teoria della Similarità di Monin-Obukhov asserisce che per alcuni momenti statistici di alcune variabili meteorologiche vale una relazione del tipo: dove ƒ è un generico momento di una generica variabile meteorologica, ƒ 0 è un opportuno parametro di scala che rende adimensionale il rapporto ƒ/ƒ 0 e F(z/L) è una Funzione Universale di Similarità,diversa per ogni momento e variabile meteorologica, ma dipendente solo da z/L.Alcune delle variabili che ubbidiscono a questa Teoria della Similarità sono: - la velocità media del vento, - la temperatura potenziale media, - l’umidità specifica media, - la varianza della componente verticale del vento σ w 2, - la varianza della temperatura potenziale σ T 2, - la varianza dell’umidità σ q 2, - il tasso di dissipazione dell’energia cinetica turbolenta ε. Si nota immediatamente come nell’elenco sia assente la varianza delle componenti orizzontali del vento. In effetti si è dimostrato come esse dipendano, soprattutto nelle situazioni convettive, dall’estensione verticale del PBL (z i ).Tuttavia, pur con una buona dose di incertezza, sono state proposte anche per queste variabili delle relazioni di Similarità che, pur con un po’ di cautela, possono essere di notevole aiuto nelle applicazioni pratiche. Qui di seguito elenchiamo queste relazioni di Similarità, senza dilungarci nei dettagli per i quali si rimanda a Sozzi e al. (2002). 2.4.1.1 Il profilo verticale della velocità media del vento La relazione (2.91), quando applicata al profilo verticale della velocità media del vento, prevede che il parametro di scala ƒ 0 sia la velocità di scala propria del SL, cioè la friction velocity u*.Pertanto, questa relazione può essere espressa nella forma (Panofsky e Dutton, 1983): dove ζ è il rapporto z/L. Il parametro z 0 presente nella relazione è la quota a cui si annulla la velocità del vento per la no slip condition.Tale quota non è nulla a causa degli elementi naturali o artificiali che coprono la superficie terrestre (la sua “rugosità” quindi), ma risulta pari a z 0 appunto, parametro noto come rugosità superficiale (roughness length). Data la sua importanza, si discuterà di questo argomento più estesamente nel seguito.
