Come attraverso la visione
angusta di una telecamera
fissa che sorveglia un angolo
qualsiasi di Little Italy, si
apre la vita di una umanità
che nella sua ritmica semplicità
è una scacchiera di cromatismi
simile alle composizioni
che il jazz ha ispirato a
Piet Mondrian.
BIOGRAFIA
Carola Spadoni (Roma,
1969). Da oltre dieci anni
divide vita e professione tra
New York e Roma. Negli
Stati Uniti ha studiato cinema
al Brooklyn College e ha
iniziato ha lavorare come
assistente operatrice in
numerose produzioni indipendenti.
Ha realizzato
diversi film come regista e
attualmente sta lavorando
alla post-produzione del suo
primo lungometraggio in pellicola, Giravolte. Ha collaborato
con il quotidiano “il manifesto” ed è stata una delle
fondatrici di Open Cine, organizzazione per la proiezione
dei classici della cinematografia italiana a New York.

Humanity is revealed through
the narrow window of a stationary
video camera that monitors
a random corner of Little Italy,
and in its rhythmic simplicity is
a checkerboard of chromaticisms
similar to the jazz compositions
that inspired Piet Mondrian.
BIOGRAPHY
Carola Spadoni was born in
Rome in 1969 and has been
dividing her time between
Rome and New York for over
ten years. She studied film in
the U.S., at Brooklyn College,
and began working there as an
assistant camera operator on
numerous independent productions.
She has directed several
films and her first feature film,
Giravolte, is currently in postproduction.
She has written for
the daily newspaper “il manifesto”
and was one of the
founders of the Open Cine, an organisation that screens classic
films in New York.
