Un giorno nella vita di
Misael, giovane taglialegna
indio nella sconfinata pampa.
Il lavoro, la potatura, la sega
all’opera, un certo rispetto
ecologico, il riposo, la radio, il
cibo, il sonnellino, il furgoncino
Ford per trasportare i pini
tagliati, la visita al villaggio
per vendere il legno, sempre
a tirare sul prezzo, telefonare
all’amico e avere notizie della
mamma, la notte.
Semplice, noioso, poetico
come Il pianeta azzurro di
Piavoli. Uno dei suoi 26 anni
di vita Lisandro Alonso, cittadino
di Buenos Aires, li ha
passati con Misael, prima di
girare 73 minuti tra i campi,
facendosi spesso prendere la
voglia di girare a cinepresa
svolazzante, “ad altezza di
insetto”. Come si fa. Anche
per togliersi le abitudini
umaniste che ancora aveva
Kurosawa Akira quando
inseguiva un altro uomo libero tra i boschi, Dersu Uzala.
Ma il film è anche qui la punta di un iceberg.
Dall’Argentina arrivano segnali vitali. Un cinema appuntito
che si lancia in ogni direzione. […] Ecco che qualche
giovane cineasta argentino (tra gli emergenti, Lucrecia
Martel, Gustavo Postiglione, Martino Rejtman, Daniel
Burman, Stagnaro e Caetano, Juan Taratuto) sta intraprendendo

BIOGRAFIA
Lisandro Alonso (Buenos Aires, 1975) ha studiato
all’Università del cinema di Buenos Aires, per poi lavorare
come aiuto regista.

A day in the life of Misael, a
young Indian woodcutter in the
sprawling Pampas: work, pruning,
the saw, a certain ecological
respect, break-time, the radio,
food, the nap, the Ford van that
transports the cut pine trees, the
visit to the village to sell the
wood and the constant haggling
over the prices, telephone calls
to a friend for news about his
mother, night.
Simple, tedious and poetic, like
Piavoli’s Il pianeta azzurro.
Lisandro Alonso, a Buenos
Aires native, spent one of the 26
years of his life with Misael,
before shooting 73 minutes of
footage among the fields, often
getting caught up in the desire
to shoot with a moving camera,
“from an insect’s height”. How
is this done? How does one shirk
even the humanistic inclinations
that Kurosawa Akira had
when he followed another free
man among the forests, in
Dersu Uzala? A distinct cinema that launches itself in every
