o un ex mercenario. È stato così che ho conosciuto
Günter Aschenbrenner. Poi con questo personaggio mi
sono dedicato alla rivista e al campo di addestramento, e
tutto è andato come doveva. Posso muovermi liberamente
nel campo e filmare quello che voglio, già mi hanno chiamato
per sapere se davvero andrò da loro e se porterò il
tipo. Questa era l’idea di base; in seguito l’ho un po’ arricchita,
mi sono fatto un piano strategico: parallelamente alla
vita di Aschenbrenner e con l’aiuto della rivista e del campo
vorrei andare in una zona di crisi. Il raduno non mi interessa
più, invece la zona di crisi potrebbe fare da contrappeso
alla scuola del campo, che in un certo senso è un
“gioco da bambini”, anche se naturalmente non nella realtà.
Attraverso questi due piani hai la possibilità di lavorare
su tutti i diversi aspetti della vita del mercenario. Infatti da
una parte c’è questo filone su Aschenbrenner, sul legionario
che in fondo ha alle spalle una rispettabile carriera militare,
e dall’altra parte quelle storie di mercenari che rappresentano
una vita militare sporca e irregolare. Negli eserciti
regolari ci sono parecchi ufficiali per cui i mercenari starebbero
bene soltanto all’inferno. Questa è l’idea che ho adesso,
ancora legata in qualche modo all’esercito. […] (Da

was the basic idea. Later, however, I improved it a bit, and I
made a strategic plan. Alongside Aschenbrenner’s life, and
with the help of the magazine and the camp, I would like to
go to a crisis zone. I’m not interested in the convention anymore,
but a crisis zone could be a counterbalance to the camp
school, which is in a sense “child’s play”, even though obviously
not in real life. Working on these two planes you can
work on all the different aspects of a mercenary’s life. In fact,
this vein exists in Aschenbrenner, in the Legionnaire who
has a respectable military career behind him, but on the other
hand whose history as a mercenary represents a dirty and
irregular military life. In the regular army there are many
officers for whom the mercenaries would be best off in Hell.
