ENGINE OIL REPLACEMENT AND MESH FILTERS-FILTER<br />

CARTRIDGE CLEANING OR REPLACEMENT<br />

WARNING*: Be careful not to touch hot<br />

engine oil.<br />

Drain the oil with WARM ENGINE; proceed as follows:<br />

- Remove oil filler cap (2);<br />

- put a drip pan under engine;<br />

- remove oil drainage plug (3);<br />

- evacuate the exhausted oil, and clean magnet on plug (3);<br />

- loosen the two caps (4), and remove the two mesh<br />

filters (5) and (6);<br />

- check for O-rings (7) conditions. If worn, change them.<br />

Then clean filters (5) and (6) using gasoline;<br />

- reassembly is a reverse of removal.<br />

- undo cap (8) and remove cartridge filter (9);<br />

- replace filter (9), lubricate O-ring (10), and screw cap<br />

(8);<br />

- Once the filter has been replaced, refit the oil drainage<br />

plug (3) and carry on as follows:<br />

1) Partially top up with 600cc of oil, refit the filler cap ,<br />

start the engine and let it run at idle for 2 minutes.<br />

2) turn off the engine and wait for at least two minutes<br />

to let oil flow in the sump.<br />

3) Top up as necessary to restore the max. level.<br />

Check the level as indicated in the relevant paragraph.<br />
