BRAKE PADS REMOVAL<br />

- Remove clips (1).<br />

- Slide out pin (2).<br />

- Remove pads.<br />

WARNING*:<br />

Do not work the brake lever or pedal<br />

while removing the pads.<br />

PADS WEAR<br />

Check brake pad wear.<br />

Service limit “ A” is: 3.8 mm (0.15 in).<br />

If service limit is exceeded, always replace the pads in pairs.<br />

PADS CLEANING<br />

Be careful that no brake fluid or any oil gets on brake<br />

pads or discs. Clean off with alcohol any fluid or oil that<br />

inadvertently gets on the pads or disc. Replace the pads<br />

with new ones if they cannot be cleaned satisfactorily.<br />

PADS INSTALLATION<br />

- Install new brake pads.<br />

- Reassemble the two pins (2) and the clips (1).<br />

WARNING*:<br />

Do not attempt to ride the motorcycle<br />

until the brake lever or pedal are fully<br />

effective. "Pump" with the brake lever<br />

or pedal until the pads are against the<br />

discs. The brake will not function on the<br />

first application of the lever or pedal.<br />
