Protection of the right to life is priority of every state and criminal law – if not<br />

the most important, one of the most effective mechanisms in this direction. Georgian<br />

legislation is not exception and the private section of the criminal code starts with<br />

the crimes again humans. Accordingly, there are many references regarding this<br />

crime in the Georgian legal literature. Though, in many cases, discussions remain<br />

on superficial and approach to various issues are not comprehensive.<br />

Purpose of this Article is to provide an overview on the opinions expressed in<br />

legal literature and in court practice regarding right to life and in this context<br />

suicide issues on the example of Germany. There are number of issues that are<br />

still open and disputable, regardless number of discussions and processing.<br />

Comparative analyses on the example of other countries will promote discussions<br />

in legal literature and court practice.<br />
