The article discusses notable features of the plea bargaining in the criminal<br />
procedure legislation of foreign countries. The article includes a comparative<br />
review which was made based on the examples of several countries. It also<br />
canvasses the motives of plea bargaining defined in the legislation.<br />
The article sets out a main conceptual position in respect of plea bargaining<br />
according to the Criminal Procedure Code of Georgia (both the current<br />
and the draft).<br />
