Only the most appropriate trees are selected, one by one. The area used is the central part of the trunk, as it is the straightest and free of branches. From this painstaking selection process we obtain our teak, one of the finest in the world. The wood is planed to give it a more natural feel, and a sealant is applied. All Kettal teak products are provided with a waterproof sealant, which should be applied every three months. La teca utilizada en los productos Kettal se obtiene de la mejor selección de troncos provenientes de plantaciones sostenibles y controladas por Perhutani. Se seleccionan uno a uno los árboles con las características apropiadas. La zona utilizada siempre será la parte central del tronco, que es la mas recta y sin ramas. De este proceso tan selectivo obtendremos lo mejor de la teca, una de las mejores maderas del mundo. La madera es cepillada para dar un tacto mas natural y se le aplica un sellador antimanchas e impermeable en toda su superficie. Le teck utilisé dans les produits Kettal provient de la meilleure sélection de souches issues de plantations durables et contrôlées par Perhutani. Les arbres présentant les caractéristiques adéquates sont sélectionnés un à un. La zone utilisée correspond à la partie centrale de la souche, c’est en effet la plus droite et ne possède pas de branche. Grâce à ce procédé très sélectif, nous obtenons le meilleur du teck, un des meilleurs bois au monde. Le bois est brossé pour lui donner un toucher davantage naturel et on y applique un produit de scellement. Tous les produits Kettal en teck sont livrés avec un produit scellant et imperméabilisant. Il devra être appliqué tous les trois mois. 26

Das in Kettal-Produkten eingesetzte Teakholz wird aus einer Auswahl der besten Baumstämme aus nachhaltigen, von Perhutani kontrollierten Plantagen gewonnen. Die Bäume mit den gewünschten Merkmalen werden einzeln ausgewählt. Verwendet wird nur der Kern des Stammes, der gerader ist und keine Äste aufweist. Durch diesen selektiven Prozess erhalten wir den besten Teil des Teakholzes, eines der besten Hölzer der Welt. Das Holz wird gehobelt, um ihm einen natürlicheren Griff zu verleihen, und anschließend versiegelt. Alle Teakholz-Produkte von Kettal werden vor der Auslieferung mit einem wasserabweisenden Versiegelungsmittel behandelt. Being a natural material, teak may change colour or even crack due to humidity levels and sudden changes in temperature. Left outdoors, teak undergoes a natural process of oxidation that affects its colour, which turns an attractive silver-grey shade. Teak furniture is treated with a waterproof sealant to protect it from damp and stains (as long as they are cleaned immediately); however, this sealant naturally wears off over time. We recommend treating the wood with sealant every three months, more frequently in the case of hotel and catering establishments. To restore the original appearance of teak, sand all over and apply teak sealant. ADVERTENCIA. Al tratarse de un material natural, pueden observarse diferencias de color o incluso pequeñas grietas debido al grado de humedad y a los cambios bruscos de temperatura. La madera de teca expuesta en el exterior experimenta un proceso de oxidación natural que afecta al color, el cual se vuelve de un atractivo color gris plateado. La teka viene tratada con un sellador para maderas que la protegerá de humedades y manchas (siempre que se limpien en breve), sin embargo este sellador se elimina naturalmente con el uso y paso del tiempo. Aconsejamos tratar cada 3 meses la madera con esta clase de un sellador, en caso de hosteleria aplicarlo con mas frecuencia. Para recuperar el aspecto orginal de la teka tan solo hay que lijar toda la superficie del producto y aplicar el sellador de teka. AVERTISSEMENT. Le teck est traité avec un scellant spécial bois qui le protège de l’humidité et des taches (dans la mesure où elles sont rapidement nettoyées). Cependant, ce scellant s’élimine naturellement avec le temps. Nous vous conseillons de traiter le bois tous les 3 mois avec ce type de scellant.
