Accanto alla piccola fontana<br />

decorativa un me<strong>da</strong>glione<br />

bronzeo ed epigrafe ricor<strong>da</strong>no<br />

il breve soggiorno di Goethe<br />

che nel 1786 descrisse le<br />

suggestioni del Benaco marino<br />

e la deliziosa atmosfera del<br />

piccolo borgo di Torbole.<br />

Neben dem kleinen Zierbrunnen<br />

erinnern ein Bronzeme<strong>da</strong>illon und<br />

eine Inschrift an den kurzen<br />

Aufenthalt von Goethe, der 1786 die<br />

Idylle des Gar<strong>da</strong>sees und die<br />

romantische Atmosphäre des<br />

kleinen Orts Torbole beschrieb.<br />

Beside the little decorative fountain,<br />

a bronze plaque and inscription<br />

recall the brief stay here of Goethe,<br />

who in 1786 described the charms<br />

of Benaco marino and the delightful<br />

atmosphere of the little town of<br />

Torbole.<br />

Una lapide posta sulla facciata dell'antica dimora gentilizia ricor<strong>da</strong> il<br />

soggiorno di Giuseppe II d'Asburgo (1741-1790), figlio di Maria<br />

Teresa d'Austria e futuro imperatore, che visitò Torbole e l'Alto<br />

Gar<strong>da</strong> nell'agosto del 1765.<br />

Eine Gedenktafel auf der Fassade dieses alten Adelspalais erinnert an den<br />

Aufenthalt von Joseph II. von Habsburg (1741-1790), dem Sohn von Maria<br />

Theresia von Österreich und zukünftigem Kaiser, der Torbole und <strong>da</strong>s Alto<br />

Gar<strong>da</strong> im August 1765 besuchte.<br />

A stone plaque on the facade of this old noble house recalls the visit of<br />

Joseph II of Hapsburg (1741-1790), son of Maria Theresa of Austria and<br />

future Emperor, who visited Torbole and the Alto Gar<strong>da</strong> in August 1765.<br />
