10 18 Chiesa di Santa Maria al Lago
Costruita nel 1939 ad uso dei bambini della colonia climatica
pavese che dal 1929 aveva sostituito il Grand Hotel Torbole.
Ora è utilizzata per le sacre funzioni della parrocchia di Torbole.
Sie wurde 1939 für die Kinder des Sanatoriums der Provinz Pavia errichtet,
das 1929 im ehemaligen Grand Hotel Torbole Platz fand. Heute finden in
der Kirche die Gottesdienste der Pfarrei Torbole statt.
Built in 1939 for the use of the children staying at the Colonia Pavese
holiday camp which replaced the Grand Hotel Torbole in 1929. Now it is
used for church ceremonies by the parish of Torbole.
10 19 Casa Beust
Storica casa risalente probabilmente al Quattrocento si affaccia sul
porto. Sul fronte dell'edificio è visibile un affresco di Hans
Lietzmann che raffigura sant'Antonio che parla ai pesci. Il pittore
berlinese (1872-1955) si trasferì a Torbole verso la fine
dell'Ottocento dove aprì una scuola di nudo attirandovi importanti
artisti. Della sua opera rimangono testimonianze pregevoli che
hanno fra l'altro contribuito a diffondere l'immagine dell'Alto Garda
e di Torbole nelle regioni d'oltralpe.
Ein historisches Haus, vermutlich aus dem 15. Jh. Es blickt auf den Hafen
und ist oftmals Motiv auf den klassischen Ansichten von Torbole. Auf seiner
Stirnseite befindet sich ein Fresko von Hans Lietzmann, das den Heiligen
Antonius darstellt, während er zu den Fischen spricht. Der Berliner
Kunstmaler (1872-1955) zog gegen Ende des 19. Jh. nach Torbole um, wo
er die Schule „Männlicher Akt im Freien” gründete, die zahlreiche namhafte
Künstler anzog. Von seinem Werk blieben wertvolle Zeugnisse erhalten, die
u. a. dazu beitrugen das Gebiet Alto Garda und Torbole auch in den
Ländern jenseits der Alpen bekannt zu machen.

A historic house which probably dates back to the 15 century. It overlooks
the harbour and often appears in paintings of Torbole. There is a fresco on
the front of the building by Hans Lietzmann which shows Saint Anthony
speaking to the fish. The Berlin painter (1872-1955) moved to Torbole

towards the turn of the 19 century and opened a school of nude
painting which attracted major artists. Many of his greatest works remain,
and these also contributed to spreading the image of the Alto Garda and
Torbole north of the Alps.
