Built around 1480, it has some lovely frescos and decorations which reflect
the new cultural climate of the period. Among the works in the apse, of
particular interest are the figures of Saint Rocco, Saint Anthony and Saint
Augustine, while the chamber has scenes from the passion of Christ. There
are noteworthy altarpieces on the side altars, almost certainly by Marcello
Fogolino, a Venetian painter who worked in the Castello del Buonconsiglio
in Trento. In a corner, there is a depiction of the landscape around Arco: the
village and the castle on the rock.
25 Santuario della Madonna delle Grazie
La chiesa è annessa al convento dei francescani voluto da
Francesco d'Arco nel 1478. Il complesso oltre che per questioni di
culto divenne importante per alcune vicende storiche che
caratterizzarono il primo Cinquecento.
Ampliato nei secoli XVI e XVII, fu completato con un maestoso
altare che ospita una statua lignea della Madonna della fine del
Quattrocento. Di grande effetto il portale in bronzo realizzato nel
1962 da Silvio Bottes.
Die Kirche grenzt an ein Franziskaner-Kloster an, das im Auftrag von
Francesco d'Arco 1478 erbaut wurde. Der Gebäudekomplex kommt aber
nicht nur wegen seines Kultes zu Ruhm, sondern aufgrund von
historischen Ereignissen, die das frühe 16. Jh. kennzeichnen. Im 16. und
17. Jh. fanden dort Ausbauarbeiten statt. Ein imposanter Altar, mit einer
Madonnen-Holzstatue, gegen Ende des 15. Jh. gefertigt, vervollständigt
die Kirchenausstattung. Besonders eindrucksvoll ist das Bronze-Portal,
ein Werk von Silvio Bottes, aus dem Jahr 1962.
The church is adjacent to the Franciscan monastery built on the orders of
Francesco d'Arco in 1478. Apart from its role as a place of worship, the
complex became important for the part it played in some historical events
