Johan Rooze ha studiato pianoforte e direzione di coro al
Conservatorio di Utrecht. Malgrado la sua formazione
prettamente classica, si è specializzato nei generi Vocal
Pop e Jazz Ensembles perfezionandosi con personalità del
campo come Phil Mattson, Michele Weir, Steve Zegree,
Paris Rutherford, Ward Swingle, Jonathan Rathbone e
Darmon Meader. Johan Rooze è direttore dei cori dell’Università
di Utrecht; „Utrecht Student Choir and Orchestra“
e „Dekoor Close Harmony“, quest’ultimo, un gruppo vocal
jazz, premiato in concorsi nazionali ed internazionali.
Con i suoi cori ha tenuto concerti in Lettonia, Austria, Italia,
Croazia, Gran Bretagna, Ungheria, Polonia, Corea,
Taiwan, Canada e in USA. Insegna direzione corale al
Conservatorio di Alkmaar ed è direttore del Vokal Jazz
Ensembles del Conservatorio di Rotterdam. Johan Rooze
dirige anche la „Utrecht Bach Cantata Society“ e l’ensemble
„Dudok“, una formazione di professionisti di Hilversum.
È inoltre membro del comitato artistico della „Royal Christian
Singers Society“ e direttore artistico del Festival Corale
Internazionale 2005 di Arnhem (Olanda). Ha tenuto seminari
in Francia, Germania, Taiwan, Corea e Curacao.
Johan Rooze è direttore ospite del coro nazionale della
radio “Groot Omroepkoor” ed arrangiatore e compositore
di musica per ensemble vocali nonché per numerosi produzioni
musicali teatrali.
Johan Rooze studierte Klavier und Chorleitung am Konservatorium
in Utrecht. Obwohl er hauptsächlich in klassischer
Musik unterrichtet wurde, entwickelte er sich zu
einem Experten für Vokal Pop und Jazz Ensembles. Er
nahm an Seminaren und Meisterklassen teil und arbeitete
mit Experten wie Phil Mattson, Michele Weir, Steve Zegree,
Paris Rutherford, Ward Swingle, Jonathan Rathbone und
Darmon Meader. Johan Rooze ist Direktor der Chöre von
der Universität von Utrecht; „Utrecht Student Choir and
Orchestra“ und „Dekoor Close Harmony“, ein mit nationalen
und internationalen Preisen ausgezeichnetes Vokal Jazz
Ensemble. Konzerttourneen mit diesen Studentenchören
führten Johan Rooze nach Lettland, Österreich, Italien,
Kroatien, England, Ungarn, Polen, Korea, Taiwan, Kanada
und in die USA. Er unterrichtet Chorleitung am Konservatorium
von Alkmaar und ist Leiter der Vokal Jazz Ensembles
des Konservatoriums in Rotterdam. Johan Rooze
leitet die „Utrecht Bach Cantata Society“ und das professionelle
„Dudok“ Ensemble in Hilversum. Darüber hinaus
ist er Mitglied des künstlerischen Komitees der „Royal
Christian Singers Society“ und künstlerischer Leiter des Internationalen
Chorfestivals 2005 in Arnhem (Niederlande).
Er gab Seminare in Frankreich, Deutschland, Taiwan,
Korea und Curacao. Johan Rooze ist ebenfalls Gastdirigent
des nationalen Rundfunkchores (Groot Omroepkoor). Er
arrangierte die Musik für Vokal Ensembles und komponierte
die Musik für mehrere Musical-Theaterproduktionen.
Johan Rooze studied Piano and Choral conducting at the
conservatory of Utrecht. Although educated mostly in classical
music, he became a specialist in Vocal Pop and Jazz
ensembles. He attended workshops and master classes
and worked with specialists like Phil Mattson, Michele
Weir, Steve Zegree, Paris Rutherford, Ward Swingle,
Jonathan Rathbone and Darmon Meader. He is director of
the choirs of the University of Utrecht; The “Utrecht Student
Choir and Orchestra” and “Dekoor Close Harmony” a
national and international price winning Vocal jazz Ensemble.
With the student choirs he made concert tours to Latvia,
Austria, Italy, Croatia, England, Hungary, Poland,
Korea, Taiwan, Canada and the USA. He teaches choral
conducting at the Conservatory of Alkmaar, and is the
director of the Vocal Jazz ensembles at the Conservatory
of Rotterdam. He directs the Utrecht Bach Cantata Society
and the professional “Dudok” Ensemble in Hilversum. He
is a member of the artistic committee of the Royal Christian
Singers Society (KCZB) and is the artistic manager for the
International Choir Festival 2005 in Arnhem (the Netherlands).
He taught at workshops in France,

conductor for the National Radio Choir (Groot Omroepkoor).
He arranges for Vocal ensembles and composed the music
for several Musical Theatre Productions.
