NEVE © foto Archivio Club Sleddog Valscura Sleddog World Championships at PIAN DEL CANSIGLIO Campionato Mondiale di Sleddog a PIAN DEL CANSIGLIO Dopo il successo ottenuto lo scorso anno con la disputa del Campionato Europeo di media e lunga distanza, quest’inverno lo Sleddog Club Valscura di Pian Cansiglio propone un altro appuntamento di forte rilievo. È il Campionato Mondiale della stessa specialità, che si terrà nella famosa e splendida Foresta del Cansiglio nei giorni 15-16-17 febbraio 2008. L’organizzazione è in pieno fermento: sono attesi musher da tutta Europa –dalla Norvegia alla Finlandia, dall’Austria alla Spagna ed alla Francia- e da Oltreoceano, accompagnati dalle loro splendide mute di cani nordici. Siberian Husky, Groenlandesi, Samoiedo, Eskimo, Alaskan Malamute… razze resistenti alle basse temperature ed agli sforzi prolungati, che sanno però rivelarsi estremamente docili ed affettuose con il proprio musher. Grande spettacolo e grande divertimento vi attendono in Cansiglio! Oriana Fullin After the success obtained last year hosting the European middle-distance and long-distance Championships, this winter the Valscura Sleddog Club at Pian Cansiglio has an even more important event to offer visitors and fans of the sport: the Sleddog World Championships, which will take place in the famous, splendid Cansiglio Forest on the 15th-16th-17th of February 2008. The organizers are busy getting everything ready for the event, and mushers are expected to arrive from all over Europe - from Norway to Finland, from Austria to Spain and France – and beyond, accompanied by their splendid teams of dogs: Siberian Huskies, Greenland Sled-dogs, Samoyeds, Canadian Eskimos, Alaskan Malamutes … races which can withstand low temperatures and prolonged effort, and which can also be extremely docile and affectionate towards their mushers. You can dash through the centuries-old fi r woods on a dog-drawn sledge alongside the freezing Ansiei River. Sitting comfortable on a sledge, you can admire the superb woodlands of the valley, or perhaps you’ll be lucky enough to spot a little roe deer skipping around among the trees – or even a magnifi cent, regal stag… There are a whole host of trips to enjoy, each more fascinating than the last, and you should not miss the chance to take a romantic outing in the Valgrande area, with its splendid peaks, mountain chalets and haysheds dotted throughout the snowy landscape, as well as the famous Terme delle Dolomiti spa area.
