CORTINA, a tutta velocità
sulle orme del “Rosso volante”
La pista olimpica di bob intitolata a Eugenio Monti in località Ronco torna ad essere un palcoscenico internazionale
con la Coppa del Mondo maschile e femminile e con la Coppa Europa. Dal 7 al 13 gennaio a Cortina
sono in programma le gare di Coppa del mondo maschile e femminile, le prove si terranno da lunedì 7 a giovedì
10. Venerdì 11 gennaio scendono in pista le donne, sabato 12 la gara uffi ciale maschile di bob a 2 e domenica
quella di bob a 4, sempre maschile. Tutti gli eventi legati alla coppa del mondo cominciano alle 9 del mattino. In
precedenza, dal 27 al 30 dicembre, saranno di scena gli atleti bellunesi e veneti per contendersi il campionato
provinciale e quello regionale di bob a 2. Gare e manifestazioni sono in programma fi no al 27 gennaio.

CORTINA, hurtling down the track
in the footsteps of “Rosso volante”
In January, all eyes will once again be on the Olympic bob track in Ronco, named after the legendary pilot Eugenio Monti, nicknamed “Rosso
Volante”, because it will host the Men’s and Women’s Bobsleigh World Cup and European Cup events. From 7th to 13th January, visitors to
Cortina will be able to see the Men’s and Women’s World Cup events, with the trials from Monday 7th to Thursday 10th. On Friday 11th January,
it’s the ladies’ turn; on Saturday there’s the men’s 2-man bob offi cial race, with the men’s 4-man bob race taking place on Sunday. All the World
Cup events start at 9.00 a.m. Before these events, from the 27th to the 30th December, it will be the turn of athletes from Belluno and from
the rest of the Veneto, during the provincial and regional 2-man bob championships. Competitions and events are scheduled until the 27th of
January.

Bocce sul ghiaccio a CORTINA
Il curling, disciplina che ha appassionato gli italiani durante le Olimpiadi invernali di Torino 2006, è uno degli sport più
praticati nella Conca Ampezzana. Una disciplina affascinante e con radici lontane. Non a caso dal 3 all’11 aprile 2010
Cortina ospiterà i campionati mondiali maschili di curling con le migliori 12 squadre maschili al mondo. Una visita al
Curling Center Cortina, in piazzale Stazione, consentirà di assistere agli allenamenti o alle partite del campionato
italiano qualifi che A e B e giovanili.

Curling in CORTINA
The origins of curling go back a long way, although the average Italian spectator did not really develop a taste for
it until 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. It is, however, one of the most widely practised sports in the Ampezzano
Basin, and it is no coincidence that Cortina has been chosen to host the Men’s Curling World Championships
from the 3rd to the 10th of April 2010, in which the 12 best teams in the world will take part. At Curling Center
Cortina, in piazzale Stazione, you can watch training sessions and category A and B and youth Italian curling
championship matches.

Lavori all’Olimpico di CORTINA
Lo stadio olimpico del ghiaccio di Cortina tornerà all’antico splendore. Le tribune in legno, inutilizzate da anni, sono in corso di ristrutturazione,
come pure i locali interni. I lavori termineranno il prossimo ottobre 2008, per ora la capienza per le manifestazioni sportive è di 560
posti a sedere. Nel frattempo però è comunque possibile vedere i campioni d’Italia di hockey su ghiaccio del Cortina opporsi agli sfi danti
durante le partite di campionato.

The Olympic Ice Stadium in Cortina is about to return to its former splendour. The wooden terraces, which have not been used for years,
are currently undergoing renovation work, as is the interior of the stadium. The work is scheduled for completion by October 2008; for
the moment the stadium’s capacity for sports events is 560 seats. In the meantime, however, you can still watch the Italian ice-hockey
champions taking on their rivals during this year’s championship matches.
