No Club
Correva l’anno 1934 quando un gruppetto di amici
decise di festeggiare in modo bizzarro il Martedì
Grasso, l’ultimo giorno di Carnevale, organizzando
una gara mascherata di sci dove l’importante
non è vincere, ma partecipare. Il No Club -letteralmente
“senza squadra”- che richiama alla memoria
le prime gare di sci degli anni ’20 e ’30 in cui i Club
sportivi di vallate contigue si contendevano le ambite
coppe, entrò così a far parte del tradizionale
sipario carnevalesco sappadino. La gara si svolge
su un agevole percorso, sui soleggiati campetti di
sci sotto Borgata Bach, a due passi dal centro di
Sappada ed all’interno del parco giochi sulla neve
Nevelandia.

In 1934, a

Tuesday, the
last day of
Carnival, in an
original fashion,
by organizing
a masked ski
competition, in
which it was not
the winning that
was important,
but rather just
the taking part.
And thus the No
Club (“no” in the
sense of “no
team”) – a reminder of the fi rst skiing competitions
of the 1920s and 1930s, in which the sports clubs
of the neighbouring valleys competed against
each other for the coveted trophies – has become
part of the traditional events which make up the
Sappada Carnival. The competition takes place
over a fairly easy route, on the sun-kissed ski area
below the Borgata Bach neighbourhood, very
close to the centre of Sappada and within the
Nevelandia snow park area.

ZOLDO, Paradiso dei bambini
I piccoli ospiti a Zoldo sono particolarmente graditi! Per loro le scuole di sci organizzano
corsi su campi da neve con leggera pendenza, luoghi ideali per muovere i primi passi
sulla neve. Giornate spensierate attendono i più piccoli all’Asilo sulla Neve di Palma-
Pianaz, dove potranno divertirsi tra scivoli, tunnel e magnifici gonfiabili sotto lo sguardo
attento di personale specializzato. Nelle vicinanze è allestita una pista per gommoni con
apposito impianto per la risalita. Tante inoltre le iniziative: la settimana inizia la domenica
con un brindisi di benvenuto presso la Scuola di Sci Civetta, poi il lunedì gelato per
tutti a Pian del Crep. Martedì e mercoledì appuntamento all’Hotel Valgranda a Pecol,
con Nutella Party e spettacolo di burattini, mentre il giovedì esperte guide naturalistiche
accompagneranno i bimbi alla scoperta delle bellezze della zona. Il venerdì è in
programma la gara di fine corso e la gita alla casetta di Biancaneve, cui seguiranno le
premiazioni con premi per tutti. Infine, il sabato, Zoldo saluterà tutti i suoi piccoli ospiti
con un affascinante tour del comprensorio del Civetta ed il pranzo col maestro.

ZOLDO, a children’s
paradise
An especially warm welcome awaits younger
visitors in Zoldo, where the ski schools organize
special children’s courses on gentle slopes, ideal
for beginners. The little ones can enjoy plenty of
carefree fun and games under the watchful eye of
specially-trained staff at the Palma-Pianaz Snow
Nursery, with slides, tunnels and fantastic bouncy
castles. Nearby there is a snowtubing slope with
a ski lift to the top. A host of events are organized
too: the week begins on Sunday with a welcome

toast at the Civetta Ski School, then on Monday it’s
ice-cream all round at Pian del Crep. On Tuesday and Wednesday at the Valgranda Hotel
in Pecol there are Nutella Party as well as puppet shows, while on Thursday expert nature
guides will take the kids on a voyage of discovery through the local landscape. On Friday
there is the end-of-course competition and the trip to Snow White’s Cottage, followed by
the award ceremony, with prizes for all. Finally, on Saturday, Zoldo bids its little visitors
goodbye with a fascinating tour round the Civetta ski area and lunch with the instructor.

A PIEVE DI CADORE,
a casa di Babbo Natale
A due passi dal centro abitato di Pieve di Cadore,
nel bosco del Parco Roccolo è nascosta la casetta
di Babbo Natale. Immersa in uno scenario che
trasporta grandi e piccini in un mondo magico, dove
la fantasia sfi ora la realtà, è qui che nel periodo natalizio
i bambini possono incontrare Babbo Natale in
persona! Sono tantissime le letterine che, ogni anno,

grandi e piccini spediscono presso il Municipio di Pieve di Cadore: sogni, desideri,
richieste… L’importante è credere nella magia del Natale e di Babbo Natale!

At Father Christmas’s house
in PIEVE DI CADORE
Just minutes from the centre of Pieve di Cadore, hidden among the woods of the
Roccolo Park, lies Father Christmas’s house. Set in a wonderful landscape which will
transport both young and old into a world of magic, children can visit the house during
the Christmas period and meet Father Christmas in person! Every year, children send
letters to him c/o Pieve di Cadore Town Hall – letters filled with requests for gifts,
wishes, dreams… All you have to do is believe in the magic of Father Christmas, and
those dreams just might come true!
