RF07.39.3 – Cognitive and behavioural indicators of conversion from mild cognitive impairment…
Scale (HAM-D), Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAM-A), Toronto Alexithymia Scale
(TAS-20), Fatigue Rating Scale (FRS), Apathy Rating Scale (ARS), Medical
Outcomes Survey Short Form-36 (SF-36), basic activities of daily living
(BADL), instrumental activities of daily living (IADL), Beck Depression Inventory
(BDI), Snaith-Hamilton pleasure scale, Rey’s 15-word Immediate Recall
(RAVLT I.R) and Delayed Recall (RAVLT D.R), 48-card version of the Wisconsin
Card Sorting Test (WCST), Stroop test (ST), Copy of Rey-Osterrieth picture
(CROP) and Delayed Recall of Rey-Osterrieth picture (ROP D.R.), Mental
Deterioration Battery (MDB) Raven’s Progressive Matrices’ 47 (PM47),
MDB Phonological Verbal Fluency (PVF), Category Fluency (CF). To assess
neuropsychiatric diagnoses and symptoms we will administered the SCID-P-
DSM-IV. All patients will be re-assessed every 6 months and for 18 months
after the initial evaluation: during the follow-up visits the subjects will
undergo the full cognitive and behavioural battery of the first visit. According
to MCI classification, all patients will be divided in four groups: 1) singledomain
amnestic MCI (sda-MCI), 2) multi-domain amnestic MCI (mda-MCI),
3) single-domain nonamnestic MCI (sdn-MCI) and 4) multi-domain nonamnestic
MCI (mdn-MCI).
Factorial Analyses of Variance (ANOVA) will be used to determine neuropsychological
and behavioural severity difference at the baseline among the
four subtypes of MCI and between converter and nonconverter to dementia.
In order to analyze the different conversion rate among the four MCI subtypes
the follow-up data will be analyzed using repeated measures analyses of
variance (ANOVAs) with MCI subtype diagnoses as a between-subjects factor
and time as a within-subjects factor.
