Aim c – We will perform whole cell patch clamp recordings in slices from
EAE mice treated with laquinimod (10mg/kg), or PBS to measure glutamate
and GABA synaptic transmission in central neurons. Furthermore, a subgroup
of mice (n= at least 3/group) from the different treatment groups will be
processed to perform Golgi staining and automated evaluation of striatal dendritic
spines.
Aim d – We will perform whole cell patch clamp recordings from control
mice to study the effects of the direct application of Laquinimod on excitatory
and inhibitory synaptic transmission.
