Sezione III: Attività per progetti
– Objective 4: To pilot the SOCIABLE service for (at least) 18-months in
the all sites, while providing continuous technical support and realizing an
improvement of the services.
– Objective 5: To design, specify and develop a surveillance system dedicated
to measuring the cognitive status and impairment evolution of the users
in the pilot sites. This system will leverage information from the SOCIABLE
ICT infrastructure and will exploit business intelligence technologies to assess
the system and deduce its optimal use.
Socio-Economic Objectives
– Objective 6: To devise, evolve, finalize and execute business plans for
exploiting the SOCIABLE service, in a way that benefits all stakeholders
across the value chain, but also the society as a whole. Business plan execution
will target the sustainable deployment of the SOCIABLE service, while
also including a thorough marketing campaign. Business plans must also take
into account the integration of public bodies into the SOCIABLE services, as
well as the means for funding the required ICT infrastructures.
– Objective 7: To enable the cost effective deployment of cognitive training
games platforms in both leisure centres and the homes of the elderly.
Societal Objectives
– Objective 8: To assess the importance of the SOCIABLE services and
use the assessment results for policy related contributions both at national
and EU levels. The assessment will be a joint effort of end-users, and specialized/expert
operators of the care centres (such as geriatric internist, geriatric
psychiatrist, neurologist, neuropsychologist or geropsychologist).
– Objective 9: To introduce a new ICT assisted approach to cognitive training
and social interaction for elderly with mild dementia in both homes and care centres.
Accordingly to test thoroughly this approach with more than 300 users
across different sites and provide feedback for fine-tuning the service operation.
– Objective 10: To successfully and essentially alleviate different forms of
dementia (starting from mild dementia) based on an efficient combination of
ICT assisted social interaction (community building approach) and cognitive
training.
RELEVANCE TO EU POLITICAL OBJECTIVES
AND EU POLICIES
SOCIABLE contributes directly to the ultimate goals of the ICT Policy
Support Programme in the area of ICT and ageing, namely to:
– Address the challenge of the ageing society and improve the inclusiveness
of the information society.
– Develop a range of business opportunities, with European industry, in
particular SMEs, in a leading position.
The tables below elaborate on the SOCIABLE contributions to each one
of the above policy objectives.
