K4CARE (Knowledge-based homecare eservices for an ageing Europe)
WP 3 – Develop the K4C domain ontologies
(URV, CAD, CVUT, UNIPG, ANA, FSL, MTA SZTAKI, RICE, COMPOL, GUH, SJH)
• Propose a set of ontologies representing an abstraction of the profiles of
the actors involved in the process.
• Supply a set of ontologies representing common pathologies of the sort
of patients considered in the project.
WP 4 – Develop K4C formal intervention plans
(URV, CAD, CVUT, UNIPG, ANA, FSL, RICE, GUH, SJH)
• Develop a family of Formal Intervention Plans (FIP) representing
procedural knowledge about the treatments of the diseases identified in WP 3.
WP 5 – Implement tools for knowledge tailoring
(URV, CAD, CVUT, MTA SZTAKI, RICE)
• Develop computer tools for instantiating Actor Profile Ontologies (APO).
• Develop computer-based tools for merging Case Profile Ontologies
(CPO) in co-morbid patient models.
• Develop computer management tools for personalizing FIPs.
WP 6 – Develop the K4C platform
(URV, CVUT, TI, MTA SZTAKI, COMPOL)
The objective of this workpackage is to build a fail proof agent-based platform
that will provide the basic functionalities of the K4C model. It will take
into account the results of WP 1 (types of users and system functionality), WP 2
(content of the Electronic Care Record), WP 3 (user and pathology profiles) and
WP 4 (content of a Formal Intervention Plan).
WP 7 – Evaluate, assess and apply the K4C platform
(URV, CAD, CVUT, UNIPG, TI, EURICE, ANA, FSL, MTA SZTAKI, RICE,
COMPOL, GUH, SJH)
• Test the adherence of K4C platform to the needs and duties of home care
providers, patients, citizens.
• Test the possibility of use of FIPs.
• Integrate EU knowledge in order to provide a homogeneous way-ofdoing
in the area of interest.
• Apply the K4C platform in a community to assess and evaluate the conditions
of use.
WP 8 – Dissemination

To present the project objectives, activities and results to different target
groups (professionals, decision makers, potential users, general public) and
ensure widest possible take-up and exploitation of the project results in technological
and healthcare areas.
