Historischer Rundgang durch <strong>Bruneck</strong><br />
Itinerario storico per le vie di <strong>Brunico</strong> | Historical tour trough <strong>Bruneck</strong><br />
Ur<strong>su</strong>linenkirche, zu Beginn des 15. Jh. im gotischen<br />
Stil erbaut. Der Altar in der Kirche stammt von Johannes<br />
von <strong>Bruneck</strong> um 1420. Das Ur<strong>su</strong>linentor wurde 1758<br />
wegen des Transportes eines großen Brunnens in die<br />
Stadt ausgesch<strong>la</strong>gen.<br />
Waldfriedhof (Heldenfriedhof) – zählt zu den schönsten<br />
seiner Art – Gefallene der Dolomitenfront des Ersten<br />
und Zweiten Weltkrieges haben hier ihre letzte Ruhestätte<br />
gefunden.<br />
Schloss <strong>Bruneck</strong> – die schöne, große Bischofsburg<br />
liegt auf einem leicht zugänglichen Hügel über der Stadt<br />
und sieht auf die Häuser der Altstadt herab. Der Haupteingang<br />
in das Schloss ist das Südportal, das einst<br />
über eine Zugbrücke erreicht wurde. Schloss <strong>Bruneck</strong><br />
beherbergt das Messner Mountain Museum „MMM<br />
Ripa“ des bekannten Bergsteigers Reinhold Messner.<br />

Rainkirche am Schlossberg mit dem Schloss, das<br />
Wahrzeichen <strong>Bruneck</strong>s – 1675 barockisiert – schöner<br />
Zwiebelturm mit interessanten Wappen.<br />
Stadtgasse – die malerische Stadtgasse, mit größtenteils<br />
mitte<strong>la</strong>lterlichem Charakter und vier Stadttoren<br />
und interessanten Fresken. Das östliche Stadttor<br />
„Raintor bzw. Brunotor“ 6 führt in die Oberstadt<br />
7 , die vom Pa<strong>la</strong>is Sternbach 8 beherrscht wird.<br />
Pfarrkirche mit wertvollem Kruzifi x nach Schule<br />
von Michael Pacher und 1983 erbauter Mathis-Orgel<br />
(Schweiz), der größten Südtirols.<br />
Stadtmuseum wurde 1995 in den restaurierten und adaptierten<br />
Postställen eröffnet, in denen in früheren Jahren<br />
die Pferde gefüttert wurden und die Postkutschen für die<br />
Reisenden bereit standen. Im Erdgeschoss befi ndet sich<br />
neben der Eingangshalle die ständige Ausstellung spätgotischer<br />
Werke von Michael Pacher und im ersten Obergeschoss<br />
werden Wechse<strong>la</strong>usstellungen präsentiert.<br />

Barockkirche, erbaut in der Mitte des 14. Jh.<br />
Barocke Darstellung der Taufe Christi von Franz<br />
Unterberger (1707–1776).<br />
Das Kapuzinerkloster und die Ordenskirche, im<br />
Sinne des Ordens sehr einfach gehalten.<br />
Florianitor, früher „Lucke“ genannt, dort befi ndet sich<br />
auf der Nordseite eine Malerei des Südtiroler Künstlers<br />
Rudolf Stolz (1874–1960), die den hl. Florian, das <strong>Bruneck</strong>er<br />
Wappen und den Gründerbischof Bruno zeigen.<br />
Chiesa delle Orsoline, eretta agli inizi del XV secolo<br />
in stile gotico. L’affresco del<strong>la</strong> crocifi ssione di “Hans<br />
von <strong>Bruneck</strong>” <strong>su</strong>l<strong>la</strong> vicina porta cittadina fu rovinato<br />
nel 1758 quando essa fu alzata per trasportare in Via<br />
Centrale una grande fontana.<br />
Cimitero di Guerra – è uno dei più belli del <strong>su</strong>o<br />
genere - vi sono sepolti caduti di molte nazionalità e<br />
confessioni del fronte dolomitico del<strong>la</strong> Prima Guerra<br />
Mondiale e altri brunicensi del<strong>la</strong> Seconda.<br />
Castello di <strong>Brunico</strong> – il bel castello vescovile domina<br />
<strong>la</strong> città dall’alto di un colle e guarda <strong>su</strong>lle case del centro<br />
storico come se dovesse ancora proteggere i cittadini.<br />
L’ingresso principale è <strong>la</strong> porta <strong>su</strong>d, dotata<br />
un tempo di ponte levatoio. Castello di <strong>Brunico</strong><br />
è sede del museo del<strong>la</strong> montagna “MMM Ripa” del<br />
noto sca<strong>la</strong>tore Reinhold Messner.<br />

Chiesa di S. Caterina ai piedi del castello insieme al<br />
quale costituisce uno dei simboli del<strong>la</strong> città – barocchizzata<br />
nel 1675 – bel campanile a bulbo con araldici interessanti.<br />
Via Centrale – il centro storico che ha conservato in gran<br />
parte <strong>la</strong> <strong>su</strong>a impronta medievale e le quattro porte di accesso<br />
al<strong>la</strong> città con interessanti affreschi. La porta orientale,<br />
detta anche di “Porta Bruno” 6 conduce in Via Ragen<br />
di Sopra 7 , dominata dal Pa<strong>la</strong>zzo Sternbach 8 .<br />
Ciesa parrocchiale con prezioso crocifi sso del<strong>la</strong> bottega<br />
di Michael Pacher ed un organo “Mathis” realizzato<br />
nel 1983, il più grande in Alto Adige.<br />
Il Museo Civico è stato inaugurato nel 1995 in quelle<br />
che erano state le stalle del<strong>la</strong> posta e che alloggiavano<br />
un tempo cavalli e carrozze. In una sa<strong>la</strong> al pianterreno<br />
è ospitata un’esposizione stabile di opere gotiche<br />
(Michael e Friedrich Pacher, Veit e Simon da Tesido<br />
e a.) mentre al primo piano vengono allestite mostre<br />

eretta già nel XIV secolo. Rappresentazione del battesimo<br />

Convento dei Cappuccini (1626): <strong>la</strong> chiesa, nello spirito<br />
dell’Ordine, presenta un allestimento assai sobrio.<br />
Porta San Floriano, un tempo detta “Lucke” presenta<br />
all’esterno un dipinto del pittore altoatesino Rudolf Stolz<br />

century in Gothic style. The adjacent town gate was<br />
en<strong>la</strong>rged in the year 1758 because the huge granite<br />
block for a fontain had to be taken through. The fresco<br />
with St. Christopher and the Crucifi xion Group was<br />
made by Johannes of <strong>Bruneck</strong> around 1420.<br />
Forest Cemetery – counts among the most beautiful<br />
ones of its kind – about 1000 dead soldiers, mainly of<br />
the Dolomite Front of the 1st and others of the 2nd<br />
World War found there their <strong>la</strong>st resting p<strong>la</strong>ce.<br />
Castle of <strong>Bruneck</strong> – The beautiful, <strong>la</strong>rge bishop castle<br />
is p<strong>la</strong>ced on an easily amenable hill over the city and<br />
looks down on the houses of the old town. The main<br />
entrance to the castle is its southern portal which was<br />
once accessible by drawbridge. <strong>Bruneck</strong> Castle is home<br />
of the Messner Mountain Museum “MMM Ripa” by<br />
the well-known mountaineer, Reinhold Messner.<br />

St. Katherine’s Church on Castle Hill, built 1345<br />
and transformed into Baroque style in 1675, has an<br />
onion shaped steeple with interesting coats of arms.<br />
Town Lane – the picturesque narrow ancient main street,<br />
with its mostly medieval character and four town gates<br />
with interesting frescos. The eastern gate called “Ragen”<br />
Gate or “Bruno” Gate 6 leads to the “Upper Town”<br />

church with onion roofed steeple. The original hospital<br />
church was consecrated in 1370. Inside on the altar pieces of<br />
